MikesVikes
They better not include the hobby of fantasy football with on-line poker. Sorry, but I do have a problem with teenagers gambling with their parents credit cards.

bushwacked
They better not include the hobby of fantasy football with on-line poker. Sorry, but I do have a problem with teenagers gambling with their parents credit cards. I think it's pretty difficult to use a credit card to gamble online. I believe the industry has self-regulated themselves for the most part and you need to go through a third party and provide additional information on a card. Regardless, in the cases of online poker, sports betting, and fantasy football it is not the govt's job to play mommy and daddy to kids and them group responsible adults in with them. DMD
Why do you hate the Republican Party? They love you and will do what is best for you whether you realize it or not. I was speaking for both parties which are filled with rogues, egotists and people somehow willing to spend millions of dollars given to them so that they can win a job that pays thousands. There is not a person wearing a suit in D.C. that is not on the take in some way. Nature of the beast.

spain
I just called my representative, Marsha Blackburn's office and told whoever that answered the phone that I was deeply opposed to this piece of legislation. He didnt know her position on the issue but assured me he would let her know my position. I told him that this issue was HUGH for ALOT of people in her district and we were against it. I told him that I am counting on her to vote against this bill and if she doesnt then I will do everything in my office to get her poured out of office come election time. Edit: This is the closest I will ever come to being a 1 issue voter. Edited July 11, 2006 by spain
DMD
I don't take much of anything personal in this because I really do not think any of the elected officials particularly care about me. Certainly not nearly as much as the lobbyist in their office with a campaign contribution. Why would they? Push comes to shove in any job, who do you listen to - one customer or the entity paying you money? Fantasy sports have no place in that bill that is mainly about the money that US casinos think they are losing. This has nothing to do with wanting to protect any person from gambling, it is about casinos wanting you to spend your money there instead of online and the government thinking they can get the payday by somehow pretending they can regulate something that they cannot. It is all about the big money and nothing about you or I. While I always vote, I am pretty sure I have never decided any election. The same cannot be said for those groups/businesses that fund campaigns. The only interests being tended to with any of this is the ability of congressmen to get money to fund their campaigns and US casinos. It is no different than the MLB and NFLPA seeing money and deciding that they want to grab as much as they can regardless of their role in generating it. Ursa Majoris
I still don't see how FF can be called gambling per se. Since all the fees are returned as prizes, there's no 3rd party profit.

Ursa Majoris
Edit: This is the closest I will ever come to being a 1 issue voter. An issue that you and I will be voting together on. It doesn't matter if this is a Dem or Rep effort, it is still a totally unwarranted invasion of privacy and a naked money grab. DMD has it dead right just above this post.
