The Stoner
I was just wondering. People are always commenting about guys being oft injured. Who has been the most durable RB in the league today. I mean a guy who may have been injured but still contributed solidly both in the game and fantasy wise. Or a guy who just never seems to get hurt. The criteria is he has to have been in the league and participated actively(a starter) for at least 3-5 seasons. I'm thinking Tiki Barber. CaptainHook
Alexander is the man. Remember when his wife had a baby on gameday? He showed up late for the game, but played anyways. In the opener against the Saints a couple year ago, it looked like he blew out his knee at the end of the game. It was just a bone bruise, and he played the next week. Since '01 when he took over for Ricky Watters in Week 5, he has started 65 of a possible 67 games. He has played in every single game since 2001. That's 80 straight games. And he's produced too. Very underrated until last year. Edited July 11, 2006 by CaptainHook

I won't be drafting him unless I pick 3rd or worse and he's somehow sitting there...

CaptainHook
LaDainian Tomlinson has been durable too. Yeah, but two years in a row he has worn down at the end of the season when you need him the most. Last year he had one TD in his last 5 games combinded. And had a Week 17 DNP in 2004. But that was his only missed start of his career. 79 starts in 80 games. Very nice.
CaptainHook
Edge He missed one start in his last 32 games (2004-2005). Prior to that (2001-2003) he missed 15 games out of 48. His first two years in the league (1999-2000) he was 32/32. He has missed 16 of a possible 112 games. And that includes a blown ACL in 2001. CaptainHook
Edit - Tiki is my 1st choice as well. Has he EVER been hurt? In the last 4 years, Tiki has not missed a game. But he has missed 3 starts out of those 64. He missed 2 starts in 2004. Going back past that to 2001, he played in 14 out of 16 games, starting 9 of them. He was hit and miss before that, since he was just a back-up. Edited July 11, 2006 by CaptainHook
CaptainHook
Rudi Johnson missed two starts last year, but has not missed a game since Week 3 of 2003. In 2003, when he was sharing the ball with Corey Dillon, he played in the final 13 games of the year, starting 5 of them. blaw23
5 years would be a total of 80 possible games. SA 80/80 - 75 games started LT2 79/80 - 79 games started Tiki 78/80 - 70 games started CMart 76/80 - 76 games started Last year was the first time CMart has missed a game since 1998, I would say he was the epitamy of a durable back. Although now his run appears to be over. SA though sure seems to be the next ironman of RB's. Edited July 11, 2006 by blaw23

CaptainHook
Clinton Portis has only missed one game since joining the Redskins. He started the other 31 games. In his two years with the Broncos, he missed 3 games. Two of those game in Weeks 16 and 17 in 2003. He was not a starter the first 4 games of his career. Since taking over a starting role, has started in 54 of 60 possible games.
