Duchess Jack
I got new PCs around three months ago and hooked one of them up because it was the only one that had internet access. I ended up getting a netgear router as suggested by people here at the huddle and haven't been able to hook it up. Net gear gives 'free support' in the first couple months... and my internet provider does not give any. I tried for like a week straight to set it up and than waited for a friend who didn't have any luck. I than waited for another friend and lastly sent it home with a friend. each of these were like two weeks each. anyway - my free support with netgear is invalid now. Man I hate computers... Basically my computer doesn't recognize the router... any ideas? Edited July 12, 2006 by Duchess Jack

DJ, I have no computer smarts compared to a lot of the Huddlers but one site that always helps me when my Linksys router / Bellsouth modem connection drops dead is the website below. It looks ugly but you can do a search for Netgear router and see if it helps you. broadbandreports.com Good luck! Hopefully somebody will be along in just a minute with the quick fix. H8tank
Go buy a Dlink router and never look back. $35 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?...N82E16833127013 The time you have wasted so far is not worth any more investment.

Surely thought Linksys & Dlink would have been the top 2 suggested. Not trying to be a smart azz, but I somehow don't think the problem is the router. Good luck with it. Sometimes setting up things like that can be frustrating, and the problem is something more simple than you think. Is it a wireless router? Need more info here. Selly
I had the same problem with a netgear, went out and bought a linksys and it worked out of the box. Was so mad at the netgear, I used it as a target the last time I shot skeet.
