Otis
If something does happen, I think that the Isrealis will do it with much greater effect than the US has shown. Good. It will be well deserved, and the world will be a better place afterwards. I'm not opposing to Israel nuking these extremist states right off the map. I'm not opposing to Israel nuking these extremist states right off the map. thats why i think syria and iran are not in it yet....they know that israel doesnt care what the rest of the world thinks and would def use their nukes. plus, i think israel is just waiting for them to do something stupid so they can have a 'justified' response. I think Israel has a little more common sense than dropping nukes at the first sign of trouble, but I do agree that the "we can beat them in conventional warfare but once we start massacring women and children and overrunning their borders, they will BLOW THE SH*T OUT OF US" probably is a nice deterrent in Israel's back pocket. I'm not opposing to Israel nuking these extremist states right off the map. I seriously doubt Israel would be stupid enough to nuke a country next door - remember distances are far smaller in the Middle East than what we're used to. Not only that, there is no need. Fighting terrorists with nukes is the same as fighting mosquitoes with a sledgehammer.
Savage Beatings
Just an aside: In 50 years how many countries do you think will have nuclear weapons? I have a feeling it will be a lot more than we are comfortable with... and who knows what kind of insane leaders will be in power at that time. The only way to stop proliferation will be complete worldwide co-operative policing of uranium, otherwise there will be at least 40 countries with nukes in 2056, likely more. By that time, some of them will most likely have been used.

Well, actually, the only current nuclear country that makes me twitchy is Pakistan.

Chavez
The Zionists (or Palestinians, for that matter) haven't driven Israel so far to the right that I consider them to be overly likely of rash actions. I thought N Korea was in the process of becoming nuclear; I've been busy so if they achieved it, let me know so I can commence pants-crapping. Otis
I seriously doubt Israel would be stupid enough to nuke a country next door Then what's the point in Israel having nukes in the first place? All of their enemies are local.
Ursa Majoris
I thought N Korea was in the process of becoming nuclear; I've been busy so if they achieved it, let me know so I can commence pants-crapping. Most of what I've read says they have 4 to 6 nuclear weapons but no-one knows for sure. They lack a long range delivery system - that's what the missile that failed last week is supposed to be. Ursa Majoris
Then what's the point in Israel having nukes in the first place? All of their enemies are local. Iran isn't local, and a nuke is an ultimate deterrent. If Israel was going under they would use nukes for sure.

SuperBalla
Why? How are we going to supply our forces with the man power to defend so many fronts? You could say N. Korea isn't one yet but assuming the worst and S. Korea is at risk?
