rocknrobn26
I just got the scare of my life, and I need a vent. My mom, several of you guys met her, has been feeling poorly for the last couple of weeks. Very tired, out of breath, and no appetite, totally ouit of character for her. We had her doctor do some tests and it turns out she has a very low vitamin B12 level, so she's getting shots 3x per week. After a week and a half she's not doing much better, but she refuses to stay w/ us. Today and every Thursday she has a standing hair dressing appt. I get a call from the owner of the shop that she didn't show up for her ride for her appt, nor was she answering her phone! I freaked out. Thank God she only lives 3 miles from me and we have keys to her apartment. I must have done 70mph to get there. I open her door and she's laying on her sofa, I feel her cheek and it's ice cold (she does sleep near her AC unit). I touched her shoulder and she woke up in a fright and said "What are you doing here?" I almost passed out. She didn't have her hearing aids in so couldn't hear the phone and over slept. Thanks for the vent. I really needed it. A question for our resident Doc....How long does it take for the Vitamin B12 shots to kick in? Mind you she's 86. rocknrobn26
I really, really am glad everything turned out alright. Afterwards I hope both of you had a good laugh. Not really, but we had a joyous tear full hug instead! The laugh, God willing, will happen a year from now! Hope you were wearing your brown pants. Black shorts, actually. A BB could not have passed, as I had a 2 ton sphincter pincher going on. Thanks again for the thoughts and allowing me to vent! What a great place!
