Gopher
OK, I can sort of understand somebody like Sorenstam taking a shot at making the cut on the PGA (after all, she is clearly the best in her sport in this era), but this Wie thing is a bit ridiculous. She hasn't even won on the LPGA. Granted, she's come close to winning, even in majors, but wouldn't it make more sense to focus on getting your first win than to humiliate yourself on the men's tour? She's 5 over through 12 holes today, currently in last place. Don't get me wrong, I am amazed at the talent she has for her age. If she continues to progress like she should, she will be one of the greatest female golfers ever. Maybe the female equivalent of Tiger, who knows? But I actually feel bad for her today, and can't help but wonder if it's in her best interest to continue like this. In my opinion, she would be better off trying to win the women's event this week. Get a few wins under your belt, then try attack something that's never been done before.
Kung-fu Midgets
I agree... I'm tired of hearing about her get exemptions, etc. for PGA events. In fact, I'm kind of bored of hearing about her in general... She's has unquestionable talent, but needs to prove herself in the LGPA and win a few tourneys before branching out. Get a few wins under your belt, then try attack something that's never been done before. The LPGA's Tiger equivalent is Annika Sorenstam. They both have 10 majors under their belt. But I get your point. I read an interesting article that was pointing to Wie's lack of tournament wins and it said if she isn't careful, she will never learn how to win, but will always be a contender. SeductiveNun
Until she's 18 and starts golfing in a bikini, this sums it up for me. Methinks her coming within 1 stroke of qualifying for the US Open pushed up the hype factor just a Wie bit. ba dum bum Thank you, I'll be here all night. Be sure to tip your waitresses and bartenders.
Guest ksu70
I was listening to sports talk radio going to work this morning and I heard the host talk about how impressed he was with how she was even par through eight holes while so sick. Not impressive. The forecast is for 95 degree heat!
