Sgt. Ryan
My employment is laying off 20% of its dallas workforce, and its being told its not production or quality of work, but instead salary. Our VP got let go yesterday, and his boss is rumored to be gone today, along with 2 per group in our engineering dept around 11 AM CST. Big John
Don't tell me about layoffs. Worst for its victims, especially when not due to job performance. And those remaining have to pick up what is left.
cre8tiff
I was laid off for a total of 11 months in 2002-2003. It sucks and nearly cost me my marriage. Tell those guys that are targeted to approach consulting groups. It is a fantastic way to get skilled professionals over the hump until they can find permanent employment. Had I approched them, I would have only been out of work maybe a month.

You sure you ahve all of his screen names covered? He may just be putting some new ones into the rotation. In all seriousness, good luck Sarge. Whiskey Pimp
Best of luck Sarge. I was let go last Friday. Sure it's nice to hang around in the summer and not work, but that can't last forever.

cliaz
Layoffs are a terrible thing to deal with in business. I'm off on fridays now but right now in my building they are doing layoffs. I'm curious as to who is getting pinched.

Big Country
I've been laid off and it sucks.... not sure if it was worse because I knew it was coming I just didn't know when, so there was always that in the back of my mind.. though I did make a pretty good guess as to when it was.. f'ers.... right after I worked a weekend show, at least I got wined and dined in Cleveland before being let go. ANyway, keep your head up, keep on looking, and, hopefully you will be able to enjoy/utilize the timeoff for something to better yourself. MikesVikes
Best of luck Sarge. I was let go last Friday. Sure it's nice to hang around in the summer and not work, but that can't last forever. My wife's nephew is an engineer that just moved down to Texas this year. Sgt. Ryan
Thanks Guys The layoffs are over, and me and my wife are both still employed here. Our Sr. VP., VP., Senior Manager, and a Manager were cut. Out of 50 Engineers only 3 were cut. So this was definately about salary, just not at my level.
