You know, that is odd. I just updated my SpySweeper as well and now I noticed my computer kind of cycles on my Internet Explorer...??? And my computer is very clean and I don't have unnecessary processes running in the background or on bootup.
twiley
Let me know as well. I did the same thing last week and have noticed the same. I didn't do a system restore, I just did a defrag though.

rocknrobn26
Here's the reply I got from Webroot: Hello, Please uninstall and reinstall the software to correct this error. If you need a new download, you can get one by going to https://secure.webroot.com/register/softwareupdates.asp and filling out the form. Typical!! I think Ursa is right. Their will be a 5.x upgrade coming soon.

rocknrobn26
FWIW.... Under 'Sweep' there is a slider 'CPU conservation vs seep speed' By default it's all the way to the right, I dropped it down all the way to the left. It's helped. It seems when it's to the right it interupts the system more frequently & takes 50-70% of the available resources w/ it! Why do these freakin' companies f' up good s/w. Edit for: More info! http://forums.pcpitstop.com/index.php?show...dpost&p=1228363 How common are Keyloggers and IIRC, doesn't Norton's stop them? If so, turning it off in SS should not hurt? Correct?? URSA..............???????????????/ Edited July 23, 2006 by rocknrobn26

Correct?? URSA..............???????????????/ To be honest, you might want to abandon this program and replace it with something else, per the postings in the link. It looks like they've over-engineered this version. Keyloggers are very common and Norton Internet Security should stop them. Pest Patrol also includes a keylogger detector. I have PP, but not sure if it's current. This is actually good timing, as my sub date is 6 weeks away.
