There are a lot of reasons why we are doing this ranging from Biblical issues to stratigic issues - but considering the enemies it has made us and the costs incurred - what all do you think about our relationship with Isreal.

 

I don't have any numbers here - but it is my understanding that prior to Iraq - we gave more aid to Isreal annually than to all other nations combined. I could be wrong on this, but I heard it on more than on occasion.

The ONLY reason we support Israel is the Jewish lobby pumps millions into the coffers of our politicians and both political parties in Washington. They sell out the interests of the United States to support a country that is a major detriment to us. We should cut all aid to Israel. But we wont because of the Jewish lobbys total control of our politicians.

Spain is right about the HUGH Jewish lobby here in the US. Frankly, I think they should support themselves. Spielberg alone could fund their defense for a decade.

 

My feeling is we should ship Hollywood as a whole to their native land and kill two birds with one stone.

That is not the "ONLY" reason.

 

A large part of the reason we support Israel is that they are a democratic state. Not that the influential Jewish lobby is not a part of the issue, but the US should support democracy where it appears. The problem is that the US often at least appears to give Israel unqualified support, when I think that at times some sanctions or at least criticism would be well justified and perhaps even needed.
