Nice article, I think this paragraph about sums it up...

I love how conservative politicians demonize liberals for standing for totally undefendable and totally fictitous arguments. Whats next, will the right be defending "every americans right to breathe"? :D

oh yeah, cause democrats NEVER demonize republicans with outlandish rhetoric. :D

One major difference is that democrats dont use eliminationist rhetoric like Republichristians. And unlike you guys democrats dont believe that Adam and Eve (not Steve) cavorted in the Garden of Eden with vegetarian T Rex's 6000 years ago when the earth was created.

Everyone should subscribe to Harper's. :D (I think their circ is only around 150,000).

Yes, it's pretty far left, but the "Readings" section is always good, and frequently very funny. As is the Index, and Findings, which just juxtaposes various scientific findings in a way that makes them all sound like a waste of time and money. The first place I read about the "Robe and Wizard" guy was a transcript in Harper's. Come to think of it, skins, did you start that thread ...? :D

That is one heck of an article. That writer did a lot of research and makes a persuasive argument. Would be nice to hear a right-wing response to it that included research and well-thought out responses. But what we are likely to get is far more base than that.

Sounds familiar... :D

Differene is we won the war in Iraq, for 3 years we have had an occupation with the wrong men on the ground. Where we needed police and builders of the government we had troops. We had them do jobs they weren't equipped to do.

Wrong plan, no response from civilians in charge of the military, etc.

Are you really that dumb? We've had builders there, and you all cry Halliburton, even though they have only got 1/3 of the rebuilding contract (at least the last time I looked). Do you really beleive that we could take our military out, and insert police?

Soo, Randy, you ready to pull that Halliburton overpayment article out for the THIRD time? Maybe this time someone will actually read it.
