Big F'n Dave
The moranic thread about the "passionate" New York fans screaming "ass hole" as the Boston fan walked by got me to wondering. Do any of you hesitate to take your kids to pro sporting events because of how bad the fans'; behavior has become? In the past couple years, I've been to Wrigley Field, Minute Made Park, the Superdome, Busch Stadium, Great American Ballpark and the Ballpark at Arlington. At each of those places, I've heard fans screaming obscenities. My kids are 10 and 8 and have probably (unfortunately) heard all the profanity there is to hear, but it's getting tougher and tougher for me to subject them to it. Anybody else have these problems? chiefjay
No, not at all. They are subject to crap all day every day with the except of their time in school and I'm sure they will here the crap there soon as they get into the higher grades. It's on the radio, TV, local parks, supermarkets, etc.. It's our job to work through that stuff. It's the new world we live in.
Swampnuts
didnt have my kid with me.....but DO NOT bring them to a the $15 tuesday night game at us cellular..... I've been to one game at US Cellular. I felt like they owed me money when I left, talk about white trash heaven in that joint. The whole place reeked of cigarette smoke and stale beer, the people were obnoxious and rude, and it was probably the least enjoyable sporting event I've ever been to. Beaumont
I have seen enough bad stuff at pro football games to know I will not be taking my son to one till he hits the teens. He does not need to see drunkards trying to start a fight and calling each other names. So yes ... It definitely will keep me form wanting to do it. I find college basketball games to be better mannered. Pro baseball also. Edited July 17, 2006 by Beaumont
boat_hacked
We had a minor league team near my town try a "Family Night" at the ballgame. Anyone heard uttering a profane word was to be escorted from the park. They did it one time, attendance was off about 40% their usual attendees. The behavior exhibited by some at professional games keeps me from taking the SO to them. I see too many times where a gang of wannabe thugs/punks have "mob mentality/ anything goes" at the stadiums. Raiders games are the closest here. nuff said about the fan's mentality there.
spain
I would have no problem whatsoever taking my kids to see the Titans or Predators home games. We simply dont have alot of the crap you see on that video. Actually, the it is just a festive atmosphere before the games and opposing fans are welcome and not taunted. Anybody dont believe me? Well, here is your chance to prove Spain wrong about his hometown: If any Huddlers team is playing in Nashville this year, just let me know, and you can be my guest to the game. You can stay here in the Spain Trailer Park Arms, and I will take you to the game to watch the Titans destroy your team. You can even wear your teams jersey, and NOBODY will say one bad word to you. Guaranteed! Reluctantly, this offer includes Cowboy fans. Only 1 Huddler per game, cause I dont want to keep a whole barnyard full of Jets fans, since they arent quite toilet trained. Yall just let me know!

AtomicCEO
I've never had a bad experience at a Bronco game... even in the low south stands. People will often taunt the folks with visiting spamshirts on, but it's usually done with a smile and a nod. The only really mean-spirited stuff I ever saw was when two Bears fans were making a total drunken obscene spectacle of themselves. The crowd came down on them because they deserved it. Thats not to say anything bad against Bears fans in general... but these guys were asses.

Taking kids to a Lion's game is cruel enough BEFORE subjecating them to fights, beer flying and extreme expletives.

Clubfoothead
Texas Satdium is a $hit hole. I'm not dragging my beautiful daughter out in this heat to go to a Rangers game. That leaves Mavs abd Stars for now. I wouldn't hesitate taking her to see either team. Of course at just under 3 any sporting event that has us cheering just gets a "Go Cowboys" response from her anyways. She's such a good girl. Chargerz
We've had Chargers season tickets for a long, long time. At first they were in the end zone on the visiting team side, and that section was about 50/50 homers and opposing fans. It didn't take us long to figure out that it was basically a war zone. At the start of each game the swearing began. By about half-time people were so liquored up that they were yelling at each other. The fights and beer-throwing would start in the second half. My wife and I got doused with beer on more than one occasion and having the police breaking up fights and throwing people out of the game, while possibly entertaining at a hockey game, was very distracting to those of us that really wanted to watch football. At the end of that season I wrote a long letter to the Chargers stating that unless we were moved to a section where I could actually watch the game AND bring my kids, they could shove their season tickets where the sun don't shine. They responded quickly with an apology and moved us to a GREAT section with alot of Charger fans with families. We were able to bring our kids many times and have never had another problem. In fact, the first year we were in the new section we recognized some other families from the prior section who had done the same thing we did and got moved to the same section. They are our close friends to this day.
cliaz
I will prolly never take my son to a redskins game. Those toilets there fill up 20 people deep per pisser and there is a lot and I mean a lot of Josh Gordon floating around in there if you know what i mean. But an Os game, hell yea. CaptainHook
My boys are 4 and 1. I've taken the oldest to a couple pre-season games. He did go to one regular season game when I was in a halftime competition. The language is pretty rough in the regular season, and there have been some fights too. He's not old enough for all that. They weren't as chatty when the Colts were giving them a beat down last year, but what can you expect. . . Deacon Bill
I have taken my kids to Browns, Cavs, and Indians games over the years. Never had any problems except the one time I sat in the Dawg Pound at Municipal Stadium. They were playing the Stillers, and it was the most obscene experience (sports-wise) I've ever witnessed. Profanity is a given and to be expected. Razzin' Stiller fans is a given. But that big dude named "Big Dawg", was the crudest, worst example of a Brown's fan I have ever seen. Drunk to the point of being comatose, he kept taking that "big bone" he carries around, and walks among the crowd, while making masturbatory gestures with his "big bone". Over and over and over... The first 10 times it's like, "okay, he's a rabid Browns fan". After that it was just obnoxious. If my kids weren't there, I probably wouldn't have given a crap. One poor experience out of all the games I've been to isn't that bad. I've probably seen worse sportsmanship at the High School level (by parents) than I have anywhere else. JMO.
