SteelBunz
You want to know exciting, how about this: Roughly 12 years ago, my last semester in college. Me and the wife lived in this run down sh!t hole of an appartment. The water had so much chlorine in it, it you couldn't drink it. The walls were so poorly insulated and the HVAC system so in adequate that in the summer you couldn't keep it below 85 and in the winter you couldn't keep it above 60. We was po, living off a first year teacher's salary at state base. Anyway I was commuting about 60 miles and was leaving at 6:15 one morning. I open the door only to be shoved back in my appartment by a guy in a bullet proof vest. The DEA was busting the dealer that lived directly below us. In all there were about 10 DEA agents, and 10 local PD officers in the parking lot. Talk about exciting, I could hear it all, as they rushed his appartment. I was glad the guy got busted, the knocks on his window every night were disturbing, as was the time he nearly burnt the appartment down. Ummm.....ok..but were there firetrucks? Clubfoothead
i felt like daedalus in the labyrinth trying to get out of there this morning. oy. I always pictured you more as the mythological figure "sissy-fuss". you're gonna feel like prometheus on mount kaukasos pretty soon This is all probably some pretty funny $hit. Unfortunately I've got wikipedia busy with Hezbollah in Lebanon right now. I anticipate a delayed reaction, however.

Coach Julio's not there, but my boy's 10-year old All-Star team is 8-1 and playing for the district championship tomorrow.

chiefjay
My favorite Coach Julio story was from earlier this year, November I think. He started to assemble a new team for this year and told Grits that his kid was automatically on the team. Grits and Coach Julio hugged at that point. wiegie
Wedgie would pass out from the excitement. Actually, the firestation is only about a block from my apartment. We also don't live too far away from some train-tracks. It is a good thing that I take Lipitor or else I probably would have had a heart-attack from all the excitement I face on a daily basis. spain
And miss out on this exciting life??? No way! (that is why I was so concerned about that letter) The letter was exciting in and of itself. While the Laffer Curve and the Peter Principle certainly make the heart race and the adrenaline flow, there is nothing like an eviction notice for hours of entertainment. You will have to buy the whole seat, but you will only need the edge... Edited July 18, 2006 by spain
Clubfoothead
I used to rent a double wide that was the length of the back yard away from the train tracks. Sparks from something would set the grass on fire once or twice a summer. I'd call the volunteer fire department after I'd put them out and dude would act like he was pissed I woke him up. Big John
There were several active fire trucks from several stations just a few houses down this morning.

Egret
It's actually lightning here again tonight. Rolling my way. The last big storm we had blew our patio table off the deck... it probably wouldn't have happened if I had closed the umbrella that night.
