ajh2
Without either, Philly would really suck because Westbrook plays a major role in the offense outside of McNabb. QUOTE Avernus Posted Today, 5:35 PM what does this have to do with Brian Westbrook?

ebartender
This is junk. When's the last time the Eagles didn't pass 65-70% of the time? Not in the last 4 years: 2002 = 53% pass / 47% rush 2003 = 54% pass / 46% rush 2004 = 59% pass / 41% rush 2005 = 63% pass / 37% rush Last year was the only year they came close to 65%. Chavez
As for the Eagles running game, we've all heard it before. They plan to run the ball more this year. Blah, Blah Balah. I'll believe it when I see it. Expect Moats and Westbrook to end up with the same amount of carries if they really do plan to run a lot. They have spent some high picks on the OL the past two drafts so we'll see if they execute their "run the ball more" strategy. I find it odd that Reid in Philly says they will run the ball more; and Childress in Minny says he wants to pound the ball. When you look at the track record as the head men of the Philly offense, they DIDN'T RUN THE BALL. Philly finished an average of 22nd (25th if you take out '02 when they finished 5th), and that's WITH McNabb's 60-70 carries a year skewing the # upwards. i_am_the_swammi
Buckhalter went on the PUP list . . . big surprise. Buckhalter REMOVED from the PUP list today, and given clearance to resume practice 100%. I guess the dead-horse is still breathing??

i_am_the_swammi
Per the Philly Inquirer/Daily News and numerous talk shows in the area, those looking to handcuff Westbrook should drop Ryan Moats in their rankings, and upgade Bruce Perry. Moats injured a knee yesterday, and Perry had been ultra-impressive anyway...many felt he would supplant Moats at the #2 RB in Philly anyway, but the injury to Moats appears to have all but wrapped it up. Big Score 1
Yep, Moats sprained his knee yesterday. I'd wait on the MRI results, before writing him off though.
i_am_the_swammi
Moats looked pretty good when he played last year. yes he did, which tells you how good Perry is looking for him to be neck-and-neck with Moats for the #2 spot. Howard Eskin, who typically has a good grip of the pulse of the team, says its a no-brainer....Perry will be #2, regardless of Moats injury. Note that Perry is also slated to be the kickoff return specialist...good value here, should Moats slip due to missing time in preseason.
