wildcat2334
Yes, Pearl Jam, one of the best live bands in the past 15 years, and my all-time favorite band plays back to back shows this weekend here.............. Gorge Amphitheater Not a bad spot to catch a concert..... Gonna be 105 PJ is gonna rock, and I cannot wait. Any huddlers see any of the stops on this tour? any earlier shows stand out? Curious if anyone else is a fan.

Was hoping PJ would hit Phoenix this tour but doesn't look like it. Edited July 20, 2006 by CaP'N GRuNGe
Chavez
I saw them at Summerfest opening ( ) for Tom Petty; I told my wife that I thought it was one of the greatest shows I'd ever seen. They opened with "Last Kiss", which is a song I can pretty well take or leave, but from then one it was top notch - "Worldwide Suicide", "Given to Fly", "Spin the Black Circle" - they slowed it down a bit but finished with a flourish. Jeff Ament was an absolute madman, and McCready was cracking me up with a bunch of total rock star mannerisms. Just a terrific show; wish I'd made both nights they played. bushwacked
I saw Stevie Ray Vaughn at the Gorge about a week before he died. At the time it was just a winery with concerts. It was great! It's still a beautiful venue out on the desert plains of eastern WA. Oh...and I saw PJ play at Lollapooloza way back when in Bremerton. Thing about it, was there was so many good bands they didn't really stand out Saw them earilier as Temple of the Dog in Seattle during a suprise gig when Eddie Vedder was a nobody. It was neat..Chris Cornell etc etc.....it was like who are these guys that we know and don't know.... Pearl Jam is great and all as an arena rock band but there were so many better bands from that scene IMHO......ahhhh the good ol days! Musically and rock wise...I'll take today's Mark Lanegan over Eddie Vedder. Edited July 20, 2006 by bushwacked
TDFFFreak
I know that World Wide Suicide is the first song in a awhile from PJ that I really love. Last great album for me was Vs., but they have some gems on Vitology and Yield.

Yeah, a cross between that and "Sweet Home Alabama". When the guitar kicks in I'm always waiting for RVZ to say "turn it up....". Curious if anyone else is a fan. yeah, my favorite band too. i've seen them eight or nine times, most recently in jersey, the last night of the first half of their tour. they played for nearly three hours. we had a great time. my friend and i joked that they should do a "pearl jam karaoke" concert where the band just plays the songs and the crowd sings them. i'd love to see them in seattle some time. Last great album for me was Vs., but they have some gems on Vitology and Yield. Totally- I am all about Ten, Vs. and to a lesser extent Vitalogy & Yield- they had a few less than stellar releases a few years back, althought the latest CD is solid. Their catalog is so good, I am hoping the set list will rock. For me, they just have a connection, and energy with the crowd that few bands can match. Plus they always sound good, and they will jam a little more for us locals at the Gorge- maybe even a few surprise guests. To this day the best show I have ever seen was Peral Jam, unannounced in a small club in Seattle right before they went out on tour after Vs. came out. Will never forget it

The Misfit
Eddie Vedder wore a Who t-shirt in Cincy a couple of weeks ago. He paid tribute to the 11 people who died here at the Who concert in '79, which was pretty cool. After two and a half hours, they closed with Baba O'Riley (teenage wasteland to non-who fans). You'll have a great time.

knoway2xcape
I've been a huge Pearl Jam fan from the first time I heard "Ten." Every time since the early/mid 90's I've caught them when they hit Northern California. I was lucky enough to see them again Saturday and Tuesday here in SF....... Let me just say...WOW! This has to be the best rock band touring the world! I don't know if it was the general admission, the intimate venue (about 7,000) capacity, or the fact this is my first indoor Pearl Jam experience (most the time they play shoreline which is outside and the crowd noise just "disappears"). The band was unbelievable! They fed off of the energy of the crowd. Both nights were an amazing experience! I only have two wishes? I had caught Sunday's show and that I could see a few more! I would love to see them play in Seattle! I'm envious - Have a great time!
justin
any earlier shows stand out? Curious if anyone else is a fan. I saw them about 10-12 years ago in DC (maybe American University) play a show with Neil Young. It rocked. Havent seen them in concert since, but still like their old stuff. Chavez
My daughter went to that concert, said it was great. She thought Tom Petty was better than PJ. All things being relative, I suppose. I DO have to say that Petty, whom I wouldn't really have gone out of my way to see, was really friggin' good. It didn't hurt that he had full lights and sound, unlike PJ. But if you like Petty at all and fall into some tickets, I highly recommend him. Top-notch band, sounded fantastic.

wildcat2334
Unreal show, I just got back from last night, still a little fuzzy from a long azzz weekend- one of the best shows I have ever seee from PJ or anyone. Incredile set list. They had a close friend of Mike McCready's who has some serious health problems PICK the set list-his dream set list, and basically not too far off from what I would have chosen. They were pumped for the hometown, the entire NW basically flocks to the Gorge- Eddie, Jeff & McCready all doin their thang. 3 Friggin hours they played!!!!!!!!!!!!!! - here is a couple pics- Black Sunset Pearl Jam Set List: Wash, Corduroy, Hail, Hail, World Wide Suicide, Severed Hand, Given To Fly, Elderly Woman Behind The Counter In A Small Town, Even Flow, Down, I Am Mine, Unemployable, Daughter / (Its Ok), Gone, Black, Insignificance, Life Wasted, Blood 1st Encore: Footsteps, Once, Alive, State Of Love And Trust, Crown Of Thorns, Leash, Porch 2nd Encore: Last Kiss, Inside Job, Go, Baba O'Riley, Dirty Frank, Rockin’ In The Free World, Yellow Ledbetter / (Little Wing) / (Star Spangled Banner) The encores were outrageous- every song rockin, even Last Kiss, which I hate was awesom bc Veddder climbed on top of the sound booth out in the middle of the crowd and sang to all the fans in the back- was cool. They performed Dirty Frank, which to PJ fans is b/c they never play it- place went ballistic. Always cool to see them do Baba O Riley & some Neil as well- McCready is a magician on the guitar-
