i_am_the_swammi
What a nice way to begin your career in a new city...I am sure Cowboy fans are even more endeared to him now. Nothing like telling a club that just paid you $10M++ that you wish you were somewhere else. I wonder if he'll try to make it happen, the same way he got himself out of Philly? Cause you know, whatever T.O wants, T.O gets. Is there a bigger dope in all of sports, let alone the NFL?? Per Fanball: THE NEWS Cowboys receiver Terrell Owens admitted that he hoped to join the Atlanta Falcons this offseason. "They knew that I was on the market, but for whatever reason, they didn't pull the trigger," he told the Atlanta Journal-Constitution. "Definitely, I did look at Atlanta as a place to play, but unfortunately that didn't happen." Owens, Falcons head coach Jim Mora Jr., Falcons offensive coordinator Greg Knapp, and Falcons wide receivers coach George Stewart used to be together with the 49ers. Our View Maybe they didn't want you, Terrell. Ever think of that? The Falcons recently spent two first-round picks on wide receivers (Michael Jenkins, Roddy White), and it's possible, just possible, that Mora, Knapp, and Stewart didn't want the mercurial receiver messing with the youngsters. Dallas fans should be happy to know that Owens wishes he had signed with another club.
The Marksman
More TO insanity. I'm telling everyone, don't get sucked into this guy's hype. He is bad news and will kill your fantasy team just like he kills his teams in reality. Or, better yet, do take him and pick him high, so I don't have to. i_am_the_swammi
Or, better yet, do take him and pick him high, so I don't have to. Amen to that...even though he may produce on the field, I would HATE to have to root for him on my fantasy team. Given the choice, I'd much rather have CJ, Holt, Harrison, etc...even if they are "ranked" a tad lower than T.O by season's end. At least I will have enjoyed my season, and not had to hope this dope produces on the field.
BeeR
SWEET GFB another Owens thread Keep em coming, really there isn't much else worth talking about football-wise. Hey he hasn't broken the law after all, so he good!! :applause:

Raider.Nation
Maybe I stand alone here, but I don't think this was such a horrible thing to say, especially considering it was TO. He said all along, and while he was in exile in Philly, that he wanted to go at ATL for all the above mentioned reasons in that quote. So what's the big deal with him restating that fact. It didn't come to fruition, but now he has a new club. Really? Where's the harm in what he said, especially considering it was a local ATL media outlet...? Jump on someone else's cack boys... This is a weak TO bash boys!

Why even say anything about Atlanta? I really didn't think he would start his crap this soon, but this is how is starts with this guy. He throws little statements out there and they build and build. And God help the Cowboys if someone tries to tell him to shut up. Then he will explode.

Big Score 1
Not sure why TO is saying this. He must have short term memory loss or something because last year when the Eagles made him sit in the corner with the Dunce cap on & rumors were swirling as to TO's next possible destination, TO himself let it be known he'd like to play in Atlanta. Art Blank and the Falcons quickly responded via the media, that they had zero interest in TO. Ahhh well, you know that crazy TO. He says he's misquoted in his own biography! Chief Dick
Dose of reality here. Owens WILL produce numbers this year. First year on a team HE wanted to play for = big time fantasy production. Everyone here knows this, and failure to draft him is plain stupidity as far as I'm concerned. The fact is, we are all here to win our respective fantasy leagues, and THIS YEAR, Owens is your #1 wide receiver taken. Especially with the solid running game Dallas has, and the fact that Bledsoe can still throw the long ball. And what are your other options: C Johnson--potential QB issues Harrison--low TD numbers lately Moss--Who the hell knows with that offense and the Brooks factor S. Smith--maybe your best option other than Owens Owens will be good this year. We all know it. Draft him early.

He performed well in Philly before his injury, and hell, he even performed as the best WR in FF until he got the boot!!! I think I see a flaw in your statement though, and thought I should point it out. Harrison low TD totals lately?!? 1999: 12 2000: 14 2001: 15 2002: 11 2003: 10 2004: 15 2005: 12 Seems like pretty good totals to me... What I should have said was with Wayne there, there is potential as Harrison gets older to lose TD's to him, and with Indy's offense the TD's will generally get passed around more. Obviously I didn't think this through in realizing Indy has more to go around. But I still think Owens is your #1, followed by Harrison or Smith. KordellStewartSucks4Life
You know bothers me most? The snowball effect! What do i mean you ask? I mean once someone says something sports related, it takes off into a world of its own. T.O. isnt a model player by any means, but im so tired of seeing 98% of all people jump his ass. Maybe hes misunderstood, maybe everything he has ever done was right. It started as a 49er, he didnt like Jeff Garcia, can you blame him? Garcia never took the team anywhere, he was a Canadian League castoff who posted good numbers basically because T.O. carried him. I say Garcia should have thrown him 250 passes a year, it would have only made Garcias stats better. The Dallas star thing is nothing, it was no different then Chad Johnson doing a dance, or some moron doing a Lambeau leap, it was a man celebrating, BIG FREEGIN DEAL! The Phili thing, am i the only one who sees Donovan McNabb as the one going out of his way to fire up T.O. ? Read McNabbs comments from Day 1 carefully, he purposely says things that you KNOW eat at T.O., if i were Owens, id break his jaw! McNabb is everything Owens says he is, i can see it by looking at him. And he did fizzle in the SB, cost his team the game singlehandedly. I would be freegin irate if i worked my entire career to get to the big game, only to have my supposed team leader take a giant crap! T.O. is guilty of speaking his mind, but the rest is everyone elses fault. It snowballs, one guy says "oh my he blasted his teamate", then 6 NFL football shows follow suit, 600,000 sportswriters jump on the bandwagon, and now you have a guy whos backed into a corner, so to defend himself he says more, which the world takes and twists it into more bad news. T.O. trains, practices, and plays like no other, his efforts are second to none. I for one think her earns the right to speak his mind. How often do you gripe about someone you work with because they are a worthless sack of turds? Alot i bet, its human nature to get upset when your busting your rearend, and the guy next to you is going through the motions (like McNabb in the Super Bowl). If you still need more proof about the snowball effect, look at what stupid Rush Limbaugh said. He said McNabb gets put on a pedistal because he is black. I COULDNT AGREE MORE !!!!!!!!!!! Yet you see what it got him to speak his mind, sent packing in 2 seconds flat, and he was right. If the media said the world was flat, it wouldnt take long before people would believe. Stop being a monkey, and start opening your eyes. The media fuels the fires, its good for business, and thats the only truth of it all. T.O. says he is misquoted in his book, look at what a big friggin deal they made out of that, BIG DEAL ! Randy Moss didnt want to go to Oakland, i dont hear anyone lamb-basting him! John Elway refused to play for the Colts, did they crucify him for it? Only in Baltimore. Eli Manning dissed the Chargers, does anyone even care or remember? Not really. Why? Because the media dont care, Elisha isnt a good enough villain for them, T.O. is! I would like to meet Mr Owens and shake his hand, for not being a hand puppet, and for speaking his mind, right or wrong! I did not know TO was a huddler. T.O. says he is misquoted in his book, look at what a big friggin deal they made out of that, BIG DEAL ! #1 - If 98% of people "jump his ass" maybe there is a reason. That is a pretty high percentage. #2 - Do you have a link to these comments McNabb made on Day 1? It seemed to me that both McNabb & Owens were pretty friendly the first season in Philly. McNabb kept pretty quite about the whole T.O. situation until T.O. brought McNabb's family into it. #3 - I agree that T.O. has tremendous work ethic, talent, and ability. Nobody denies that here. The problem is that he does not know when to keep his mouth shut. Don't think he doesn't know exactly what he is doing when he throws stuff out like the Atlanta comment. It may not be a big deal, but why even mention it now? He thrives on the media making abig deal out of his comments.

Blank may not have wanted TO/Moss, whether it was because of their off field ish, or if it was because the team spent 2 high draft picks on WR's but come on! If you had the chance to make your team better, and turn them into an instant competitor the way the Cowboys have become, why wouldn't you?!? I believe that if the Falcons had picked up TO, they would be hyped just the same way the Boys are this off season.
