cliaz
I have no link or anything to back this up. my buddy send me some info on chester taylor today cus we were talking about him. I'll try to get the link from him though: Chester Taylor vs. Mewelde Moore Taylor was considered a lock for the RB job until he started to look iffy in minicamp. Sorry I don[t have anymore to back this up for now.
Hugh 0ne
Meh. Moore's injury prone. Taylor will get the bulk with Moore seeing some 3rd down action. Taylor will probably get the short yardage downs as well, which will probably eliminate Ciatrick Fason's fantasy value completely, not that he had much to begin with. Hugh 0ne
Chester Taylor = This year's Tatum Bell Just a hunch. Please explain. He'll end up with over 1000 yards and 8 TD's. Or he'll only start one game but be efficient. Or he'll average 5.3 YPC. Maybe I'm a little "slow", but please grace me with more details of your "hunch". TIA. piratesownninjas
I don't see either of them holding up as a primary back... Taylor has never had to carry the full load before, so we're not even sure if he can. I don't think either the the vikings runningbacks are too impressive. I see them splitting carries with Taylor getting about 2/3 of them.

Avernus
per KFFL Vikings | Concerns over C. Taylor seem to be over Sun, 2 Jul 2006 20:09:06 -0700 Kevin Seifert, writing for the Sporting News, reports Minnesota Vikings RB Chester Taylor's absence from the early part of offseason workouts caused some consternation at the Vikings' headquarters. He reported for the team's initial minicamp out of shape. That was not a good start for a player expected to get the majority of carries as well as play a key role in the passing game of head coach Brad Childress' west-coast offense. However, Taylor remained in town for the remainder of the team's minicamps and offseason training workouts, and there appear to be no depth chart concerns as training camp approaches. I'm surprised Taylor didn't end up on the cover of anybody's Fantasy Magazines. And as for your fancy statistics you threw around, on a consistancy basis Bell was virtually useless for fantasy teams for a large part of the season despite what his final numbers show. broncosn05
Just remember that the one game that Taylor started in 2005 totaled for 20 carries for 59 yards and a fumble along with 14 receiving yards. His a nice 3rd round pick but that's about it.

I don't like any of my players playing AT Denver.... not that it's a big enough deal for me to bench anyone I would normally start....but at Denver, this wouldn't shock me....especially playing FOR the Ravens their OL was mediocre at best...and Kyle Boller was awful at best unless it was monday night :hoppingmad:

Anywho, isn't the reason Bell was "virtually useless" from a fantasy perspective, as you put it, because he played for Shanahan? I mean, you really can't blame Bell, can you? And how is 1000 yards and 8 TD's useless in any fantasy league? Just because he played for Shanny, and you started the wrong Denver RB every week, isn't Bell's fault. I'm not predicting great things for Taylor, but he will be the feature back in MN, and he will produce, and he will be a viable fantasy option, and he will get the goal line carries. Tatum Bell had FOUR good weeks last season. FOUR. And one of those weeks was I think the last week of the season meaning he had THREE good weeks during the fantasy season. If that is the kind of production you are after from a RB picked in the 3rd round then by all means latch onto Taylor. He should be every bit as good as Bell was last season. Maybe I am the only FF player in the country that thinks Taylor will disappoint. I sure hope so, that should make things easier for me on draft day. I don't think you're going out on a limb by saying he'll be this year's Tatum Bell (whatever that means, Tatum was a backup)... bragging saying "I told you so" would be pointless... alexgaddis
With the O-line looking the way they do and the offensive philosophy being brought in and the money they gave Taylor I find it hard to believe he will be a bust
