Need reccomendation

Well, I am heading to Vegas on Sunday, staying until Tuesday afternoon. Main reason for going is that my cousin is in a HUGH basketball tournament being held out there, so this was a good way to get my wife to let me hit up Vegas before WCOFF. She is coming as well on this trip as are my brother and sister in law.

My 6th anniversary is next weekend, and we are going to try get out for a nice dinner locally, if we can find someone to watch our son after we get back from the circus(mother in law is likely available, but plans still up in air).

I was thinking of taking my wife out to a real nice dinner while in Vegas. SHe really loves prime rib. We are staying at the Rio and it appears they have a somewhat decent steakhouse there, but I figured I would ask for any reccomendations from the Vegas regulars of some of the better restaurants in town, preferably along the Strip, that likely have a good prime rib dish for her.

The Steakhouse at the flamingo is out of this world. The name of the place is Conrads and you will not be disappointed

Edit to add: The changed the name from Conrads to Steakhouse46

First off- congrats! I am also jealous- I am due for a Vegas trip. I have eaten at a few steakhouses there-

The Rio?? just in time for WSOP as well huh??

Rio steakhouse I am sure is good, but if you want to get out ---

Smith & Wollenksy, is excellent and right on the strip.

Also, I am sure you can't go wrong at Palmers at Four Seasons-

Thanks for the quick replies guys.

Have heard of Conrads and of SMith and Wollensky's. Will I likely need to make reservations in advance, or would same day reservations suffice. I ask because our schedule with my cousins basketball tournament is kind of up in the air as his game times are determined by previous day's results and such.

And yes, getting there right in the middle of the WSOP... we leave a few days before the main event begins, but I will be amking a few trips to the main tournament area to see if Ican't see and talk to a few of the recognizable pros.

You usually need reservations at Steakhouse46, do you have a total rewards player card at all? If you do you can get a VIP host to get you a reservation, if not you can probably do same day reservations as well.

Great place. For Prime Rib Lawry's is excellent! Between the strip and paradise rd. You won't be disappointed.

I was there and stayed at the Rio a few weeks back (June 24). I don't know that many pros, but a lot buddies that I was with recognized a whole mess of poker pros. They were all over the hotel & casino.

We had our steak dinner at The Palm in Caesars and I recommend checking that place it. It was a good meal.

I can't tell you how many times I didn't open this thread because I was misreading it as "Vegan Restaraunts"... :D

I also loved Lawry's. One of the things I like the most was the huge breasted waitress in the low-cut German wench costume constantly leaning over the table. Mmmmmm.... steak.

Is the Rio Steakhouse that Brazilian Steak House where they just walk around with meat and cut it off onto your plate? We ate so much meat at that place we were all comotose. Good lord. Vegas is a place of many indulgences.

Mon Abi Gabi is a real nice spot in Paris. If you are on the patio, you can watch the Bellagio fountains. Can't remember if they have prime rib, but the have a great merlot infused filet that you can cut with your fork.

What he said! :D My favorite place in Vegas. Out on the patio especially or inside ...... you'll love it!

Le Cirque at Bellagio is a great special occasion meal with the significant other. An intimate and romantic small dining room with views to the fountains. It's a great, but pricy meal; however, fitting for an anniversary.
