Return Of S&B
(KFFL) Bill Soliday, of the Oakland Tribune, reports Oakland Raiders LB Kirk Morrison is listed as the team's starting middle linebacker heading into training camp. Raiders | Clark not listed as starter on initial depth chart Published Fri Jul 21 9:15:00 a.m. ET 2006 (KFFL) Bill Soliday, of the Oakland Tribune, reports Oakland Raiders LB Danny Clark, the team's leading tackler the last two seasons, is not listed as a starter on the team's initial training camp depth chart. "Danny is an integral part of this football team," head coach Art Shell said. "We are looking at players. Nothing is etched in stone. We don't know where we'll end up for sure. We have a long ways to go through training camp." ********* Look's like i f'd up and waiting too long to snag the real starting MLB on this team. Missed out on Morrison so had to grab Clark a round later....now Clark may be riding the bench all season. May be a bit early but unless he beats out one of the OLBs (S Williams (ir-prone), T Howard (rookie)) he may be coming off the bench in certain situations or downright cut (2.7mil this year)....Morrison will be earning (600K). Stingers
I traded an early 3rd round draftpick to pick up Clark - he was going to one of my starters in my start 3 lb dynasty. One of the other ones was going to be Odell Thurman I'm in big time trouble. My other linebackers are Sims, Greenway and Bradie James. Those rookies better start off on fire. Return Of S&B
Simms and Greenway should be decent...dont know too much about James but if he's starting on the inside for Dallas he should produce also. Being new to IDP, I didnt realize LB was such a player-turnover position...I guess decent depth is the only way to offset things.
Beaumont
Sims and James will be fine. I am not sure you will get that much from Greenway this year ...
Stingers
Sims and James will be fine. I am not sure you will get that much from Greenway this year ... I didn't expect him to do much (Greenway) I still have Quarles and my backup will be either Greenway or Gilbert Gardner Here's hoping Thurman doesn't screw around and comes back with a fury in week 6! Swiss Cheezhead
Sims and James will be fine. I am not sure you will get that much from Greenway this year ... Why is that? Just curious. Are you just not a believer in Greenway's talent?

Stingers
Not as much as Sims, and the reports out of Minny are that he has not started breaking the starting rotation, as opposed to Sims who has ... this is what I've heard too. I think he will develop into a stud type LB but I think it will take time. I don't think he's startable material this year or at least the first 5 or 6 weeks of the season. I know we are anxious to get any info we can, but who is on depth charts now may not matter much.
biggamer3
being on the topic of rookie LB'ers, what do u guys think AJ Hawk will do this year?
XFlash
Just read on MFL NFL news that Oakland might release Clark I can see moving to the youth movement, but he has been solid the last couple of years. If released, he should find a new team quickly.
Stingers
being on the topic of rookie LB'ers, what do u guys think AJ Hawk will do this year? I being a homer - keep that in mind. But I think AJ will do very well this year. Even though he is playing the WLB and the Packer scheme is MLB friendly, it has also been said from the beginning that Hawk will be on the field in all the packages which will provide him with many opportunites to get tackles etc. But he also has Barnett at MLB (for now - chatter about starting Hodge and MLB and moving Barnett to SAM) I think to a certain extent the linebackers will canabalize each others stats but I still feel that Hawk will do very well. Remember he hasn't signed yet either. Any delay to training camp may stunt his development a little. In a dynasty league he'll be gold. In a redraft, I think he drops some. Swiss Cheezhead
He is not a very good tackler. True, but he's probably the best tackler the Vikings have among the LBs. Plus, he does other things well (like run quickly to the ball). I think he'll be fine, although I do prefer Sims's talent on a one-game basis. I'm just a little scared by his concussions. 'Potential' is such a dangerous word.
