rhippens
i know i've seen some threads on this before but i had some trouble searching for them. i've got a mixed bag of my collections from the 80's and 90's. pretty much all sports, some working sets, etc. i also have some football and baseball from the past couple of years that i bought trying to revive my collecting, but i just don't have the interest i did before. but alas, my wife is telling me to clear some of them out and my parents just had some flooding take out some of my stepfather's collections which has scared me some. anyway, i wanted to see if any huddlers are collectors that i might be able to help out with working sets or cards they want. i'm not looking to make money, i'm just looking to get rid of some of these cards to someone who appreciates them. if anyone is interested or knows someone who might be, pm me. thanks all. hippy

Mark5
My collection is about 100,000 cards. I buy about 6-10 boxes of baseball and football each year just for fun now. I have alot of Marino, McGwire and Texas Rangers stuff.. Kinda lost interest about 3 years ago when they retired.
nuke'em ttg
I narrowed my collection down to football autographs.......
muck
I collect baseball cards only, but tend to focus on the older stuff (i.e., 1960s and older).

nuke'em ttg
Not to hi-jack the thread but does anyone know where there is a site where you can look at different Cards values? just lookin on Ebay gave me a pretty good idea what they're goin for.....but the site you're lookin for would be Beckett.com....... Mark5
Beckett's values are not really close to what the "real" value you could get for them. Grading and EBAY have changed the whole landscape of selling cards. EBAY is really a buyers market. If Beckett says the value is 10-20 bucks on a decent rookie you might get 5 selling on EBAY. I sold alot but finally gave up because 90% of the cards I sold went too cheap IMO.
muck
The main exception to this is rare and high quality older cards ... the older and the higher the quality, the higher the price on eBay ... however, for the rarest and highest quality cards, even higher prices could be probably had at card shows and higher-end auctions. Piranha
Good luck rhippens, I tried this a while ago too and got shot down. I probably spent a small fortune on football cards throughout the early 90's. Maybe we can sell them all together on eBay and make $10 or so

Maybe we can sell them all together on eBay and make $10 or so yeah, i hear that. obviously the stuff was mass produced coincidently during the time i was really buying. so i'm loaded with boxes of comic books and cards that have less value than usual. i think i'll get any cards to people that are interested and the rest will eternally sit somewhere. Adoption Agency? Etc?) and take a tax write-off...it's lots better for you financially to own a $0.10 common card from the 1999 Topps set and give it away (valuing it at the Beckett price of $0.10) to get a 30% (or whatever your tax bracket is) tax write off (i.e., $0.03 of value) than it is to sell it for $0.005 in combination with lots of other cards... Note, you must own the cards for at least one year before you give them away. I've had some success with this, giving approx. 15,000 common (plus 1,000-2,000 stars) to a charity a few years ago. Felt good, made more room and saved me money on my taxes.

I going to try to get the rookie cards of each of the guys I have autographed spamshirts, footballs, or helmets from. If you have any of hem, let me know I'd be willing to pay a fair price for them. I'm looking for the following rookie cards: Football Steve Young Troy Aikman Brett Favre Emmitt Smith Joe Namath Howie Long Charles Woodson Archie Manning Peyton Manning Eli Manning Roy Williams (DAL) Basket Ball Dirk Nowitzki Amare Stoudemire Base Ball Pete Rose Hockey Mike Modano
muck
What charity would accept them? Apparently you can't read. I mentioned Children's hospitals, adoption agencies, etc. as potential places. I gave mine to a youth outreach group on a military base in Germany.
