drafter 18 Posted August 20, 2006 Last year I put a link directly to the message boards in my favorites. It worked! I could get to the boards, just not the main site.

sunysteelfly76 0 Posted August 20, 2006 You can use http://198.65.131.173 to access the main site. This site will let you change URLs to numbers to get around blocks. This doesn't work for the message boards.
The Waterboy 1 Posted August 20, 2006 (edited) That's a tough one. Your company is either sending you through a proxy server or a firewall server that have software installed to block traffic. You can try and change the url of the domain to an IP address using reverse dns, like the other poster described, but it probably won't work as there are a lot of things those software packages can do to filter, often they go so far as to read content, rather than just examine the IP address or domain name of the return reply. There are some websites that offer cloaking that may work, though I haven't tried them. Some charge. They will forward all requests and cloak them so it look slike the page is coming from there. google "websites -cloaking" or something like that. I've also heard of people tranlasting the page via the babelfish website into another language and that can work, I tried that once, but wasn't able to log in correctly into sportsline. Some other ideas - try using a browser imbedded in something like real player or itunes - no idea if that works. I had friends who had quirk things work, like they were able to get into sportsline when clicking on a link embedded into a dialy update email from Lotus Notes. Last idea that will work- drop a few hundred for a cell phone PDA that gets good web service - I have a blackberry 8700 and it rocks. If you're really into it, you can even plug a laptop into your PDA and I have heard it is quicker than a dialup. Only caveat, you need to pay for unlimited data. But, as other posters suggested, that's why I quit my job and just work from home now Edited August 20, 2006 by The Waterboy
REZ 47 Posted August 20, 2006 Seems like this is going around a lot lately. I can get to the main site but not the boards. Changing to numbers doesn't work for me.
The Vatican Hitsquad 0 Posted August 20, 2006 what if you built a webpage with a frame that laoded the Huddle page? the url would read the webpage you built to wherever you hosted it, but the frame would pull in any other page.

OK, I have webspace available from charter. Are you saying that I can put something there that will get the huddle boards undetected by the block? Do tell. CopeDog 2 Posted August 23, 2006 (edited) www.thehuddle.com and forums.thehuddle.com are hosted at 2 different ip addresses. That is why http://198.65.131.173 allows you to the main site and not the forums. Try using this link for the forums: http://67.15.173.29. Do NOT use the proxy avoidance/remote proxy sites that have already been posted in this thread. I guarantee you will get in much deeper crap for using or trying to use one of those sites. ***Edit - http://67.15.173.29 doesnt work. One of the site admins will have to tell you the address you need to go to to access the forums directly. Or they'll have to add a host header to that site for the IP address. Big John 1,305 Posted August 23, 2006 ***Edit - http://67.15.173.29 doesnt work. One of the site admins will have to tell you the address you need to go to to access the forums directly. Or they'll have to add a host header to that site for the IP address. That is the problem - there is no way to directly access the forums this way.
CopeDog 2 Posted August 23, 2006 Yeah, I mainly wanted to convey to these guys to not use the remote proxy sites while at work. This is fixable depending how thehuddle guys have written the site.
