Rams without their starting center

Their center will be out for the season now, and I don't know who's replacing him, but it seems like adjusting to a new center could throw an entire offense out of whack.

How much do people think this will affect the effectiveness of their rushing and passing game? Does losing a center hurt the rushing or passing game more?

It's surprising to me how often times I find FF players who could care less about changes in personell or injuries to the offensive lines their RB's work behind.

In one league I took Alexander with the 1st overall pick, because I felt that there were just too many changes and injury quetsions with the Chief's line. It's only week 1, and lots of teams came out slow, but the way that the Seahawks rushing game looked worries me that I may have underestimated the loss of Hutchinson.

Last year I tried in vain to convince my friend (a bit of a Packer's homer) that the loss of both starting guards meant Ahman Green should slide down his cheat sheet. Injuries to the Pat's line really hurt Dillons yardage (along with his own nagging injuries).

I drafted C. Taylor over the likes of K. Jones and other backs available because I felt the additions the vikings were making would guarantee them at least an above average line.

I think it will be very difficult for the offense if noone is there to hike the ball. :D

Otherwise, SL relies on their tackles for pass protection and off tackle runs. I don't think it will be a huge issue.

I was just going to say the same thing. :D

There may be a slight issue but not enough to warrant a benchspot.

The Vikings were without their starting Pro-bowl Center last season (Matt Birk) and his absence was a huge issue all season. I don't know the difference in talent between the Rams starting Center and their backup Center (sometimes they are pretty even) but if the dropoff in talent is significant, then it could definitely make a difference.

I'd say the mostly likely difference would be a possible increase in the number of QB rushes and sacks... meaning more quick dumps to the RB and TE's or more short yardage completions to the Wideouts.
