theeohiostate
http://www.nfl.com/teams/story/WAS/9662607 ASHBURN, Va. (AP) - Washington Redskins coach Joe Gibbs ruled Clinton Portis out for the game against the Dallas Cowboys, an announcement that surprised Portis and created yet another bizarre twist in the running back's injury saga. I know there is a post about him being doubtful, but clearly he is OUT now.

Big Score 1
From the linked article in the first post of this thread. "He didn't practice today. ... If a guy doesn't practice, he's not going to play," Gibbs said. Portis wore pads and said he "ran a few routes" during practice, but that apparently wasn't enough for the coach. "He'll probably tell me he can play on game day, but he didn't practice so we'll move him down accordingly," Gibbs said. "Hopefully he's going to be back next week, That would be my hope." Gibbs is an Old School Coach. No practice, No play! Simple as that.

Randall
From ESPN "It's really just because of soreness," Gibbs said. "Actually, it's in a different spot in his shoulder. He's got some soreness there that lingered and kept him from practicing this week."

yo mama
Is this injury going to linger all season? Hard to say, as the soreness that kept him out of practice was apparently not connected to his shoulder issue... and I was unware that Portis had any other present injury issues, so something is fishy here. But for all we know it's just an ingrown toe nail.
