Big Country
At what point does a "stud" no longer get the always start your studs moniker applied to them. A key example this year is Randy Moss. We all know he is always capable for that 150 yard, 2 score game, but, in his situation, is he more likely to have that 25-40 yard game with no scores. I guess the theoretical question is, at what point would you bench Moss for another WR? If you would, what level WR would you bench him for? Are we talking only if you have a guy like say Rod Smith, someone generally considered to be a top 20-25 guy, or do you go farther down to an upside guy like say Marques Colston or Braylon Edwards type... someone not exactly in a prime situation but certainly getting the opportunities? Or do you stick with the stud through thick and thin?
Flip_Side
I have Moss and am going to stick with him through thick and thin.

Interesting question, I was high on Moss on draft day, but now thank the fantasy gods for looking over me and having another owner with the problem. I think "most" owners look at this question when a "stud" has a tough match-up. In that case, I say start the stud 100% of the time. Now to your point when the team AND the offense both STINK, that is when you have to make a decision; one option is to make a trade, if you can unload on the players past value! Otherwise, I do not see how you can NOT start them this early in the year, if it is say, week 5 and you are still waiting for production, I would then consider benching a stud. jarhead
I would trade him too some OTHER poor sap that thinks he is still a top WR
