cmac
(KFFL) Alex Marvez and William Lucey, of the Sun-Sentinel, report Miami Dolphins head coach Nick Saban hinted that Dolphins RB Lee Suggs would receive significant playing time serving as RB Ronnie Brown's backup. Saban said Suggs is much more prepared to play Sunday, Sept. 17, after having joined the team off waivers from Cleveland almost two weeks ago. "I think we will use (Suggs) more in a two-back role similar to what we did a year ago," said Saban, referring to the Brown-RB Ricky Williams tandem that was effective in 2005. Take this how you may, but it sure sounds like it could be time to trade Ronnie Brown. Definately will have me watching the Miami game closely to determine how to take this news. I'm shopping him around. If I get a great offer, I may take it, before his stock potentially drops.

Don't want to sound contrarian just for the sake of being contrarian, but I think this is the _worst_ time to trade Ronnie. He had a horrible YPC showing even though he scored 2TDs, and now he is going to share carries? I'm not buying that for full price.
SteelerMurf
Anyone who thinks Ronnie Brown will "share" carries with Lee Suggs....you know that ain't happening.

What could Saban possibly have to gain by saying something like that? It's not like Ronnie and Suggs are such different backs that opponents would need to change their game plans. I think you see Suggs in relief of Ronnie, kind of the way you see Buckhalter in for Westbrook for a series here or there. I'd be surprised if it was as big a timeshare was Ronnie/Ricky was. cmac
What worries me though is that Saban has shown the split backfield before. Also to be considered is that Ronnie Brown did share carries at Auburn. 2 prior strikes that make at least a 2/3rds, 1/3 split between Ronnie Brown and Lee Suggs at least enough to keep an eye on the situation. broncosn05
Lee Suggs is a good RB IMO, but not even close to the skill of Ricky Williams. Hopefully you get the hint of what I think this will do to Ronnie.... Little to nothing.
Chief Dick
Suggs gets around 6-8 carries a game IMO. Normal backup duty.
