'He goes to hell and back to avoid paying tax. He has a special accountant. He works out Irish tax loopholes. And then he's asking me to buy a well for an African village.

How exactly is it that this makes him a hypocrite? :D

Do you take advantage of all tax credits/deductions/etc. and then dare to help fundraise for your church or fire department or kid's baseball team? Hypocrite!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

:D

Repubs get their panties all bunched up over celebs all the time. Nothing new here. In an effort to keep their minds off of Bush's failures, they troll tabloid web sites looking for the latest hollywood type to lady dog and moan about. Do you really think that the rest of us give a rats anus about what Bono says or does?

I've never understood why people get so worked up about the President.

I just figure if they were such geniuses they would run for President, win, then fix our country.

I will admit to doing FAR less cocaine than W has probably done.

Thus, I am unfit. Oh, that and I am against pre-emptive war - which makes me an America-hater because I didn't serve; to LOVE America, you need to be FOR pre-emptive war and not have served. :D

I'm not aware that I've "got" anything.

But you did actually link to People magazine.

The story appeared in several places. I linked to the first one that popped up in my google search. I'll be more discriminating next time. K?

And my point is still valid. Why would going to extreme lengths to avoid paying taxes, which supposedly in turn help to pay for the very things Saint Bono travels the world telling other people (mostly us), to pay for, not be hypocritical? Or at the very least, disingenuous? :D

Kinda like Ted Kennedy pimping himself as some great environmental advocate while at the same time behind the scenes making sure wind farms aren't built where he can see them from his family compound. :D

Do you really believe that taxes paid by Irish companies and individuals really go to help fund projects outside their home country to the extent that Bono's efforts do?
