nogohawk
Watching the game this weekend, Jake reminded me of a professional golfer when the get a case of the "yips" Is he too busy looking over his shoulder at Cutler or just some of the same old Jake the Snake stuff? Azazello1313
if it were up to me i'd say give jake (and the offensive brains trust) one or two more games to get their chit together. i sense the broncos have him on a longer leash than that, though i could definitely be wrong. i guess we'll just have to wait and see. Bronco Billy
This is patently nonsense. Of course it isn't time to stick a fork in Jake Plummer. The guy is 33-13 as a starter in DEN. In his 3+ years here he has averaged 222.2 ypg passing and his TD/INT ratio is 1.62:1. Those are outstanding numbers for a QB in a run-first system like DEN's. As a point of comparison, Tom Brady is 40-10 with 236.4 ypg passing and 1.93:1 TD/INT. Now Brady is obviously better, but there isn't a huge drop off to a guy like Plummer, is there? What does anyone think it is going to improve the current situation by putting a wide-eyed rookie, even one as obviously talented as Cutler, into the starting QB situation? Does anyone really expect him to put up better numbers than Plummer has proven he can put up? The same crap happened last year - DEN started with a bad loss, followed by a close shave W, and idiots here wanted to put Bradley freakin' Van Pelt in for Plummer. The game is so incredibly fast when the #1s on O are playing the #1s on D, Cutler would most likely struggle badly - which might actually hamper his development badly. Cutler's best place this year is on the sideline learning the game, and Plummer's only spot this year - provided he stays healthy - is under center. Next year we can debate this seriously. Next question, please. Shanahan has clearly, plainly, & succinctly stated that Plummer is his guy. End of story. He also said that Mike Bell was going to be the starter this year, and before that he said that Ron Dayne would be the starter. Yep, you're right. It's a sure sign. Go out & roster Cutler right now, if not sooner.

ABearWithFurniture
There's a reason the Arizona Cardinals cut him loose...he's a choke artist. He'll have a few good games but can never get over that hump. And any comparison to Tom Brady is just plain wrong. Stats lie...there's a huge gulf between the two. Ruffian
Still, this team has Superbowl dreams, and I'm not certain that throwing Cutler into the mix is a good idea at this point in the season. Plummer may still get it together... but if he doesn't by week five, then it's Cutler's show, if I'm Skeletor Shanahan. The Snake may be slithering outta Invesco. Swampnuts
The Broncos would probably have to completely implode before Plummer gets pulled IMO. I think we have a better chance of seeing Joey Harrington this year than Cutler.
AtomicCEO
If it counts for anything... even though he was making awful... awful throws in the first half of Sunday's game, I did NOT boo him. Everyone else did, though.

Randall
He also said that Mike Bell was going to be the starter this year, and before that he said that Ron Dayne would be the starter. Ron Dayne is the starter in Houston. Jake needs to find Javon more. The guy is open a lot and catches the ball very well.

The 2 dropped passes that would have been TDs in week 1's loss not withstanding...

Maybe so, but he's the only QB to take them to a playoff win in the past.....what.......15 years. That's saying something in AZ.
Vet
I've had Jake on my dynasty team for about 3 years. It's been like dating a really hot stripper who just refuses to put out.
