Hugh 0ne
Gee Art, thanks for getting your head out of your ass and realizing something the rest of the free world did before the season started: Raiders | Running backs to be involved in the passing game Tue, 19 Sep 2006 10:34:42 -0700 Jerry McDonald, of ANG Newspapers, reports Oakland Raiders head coach Art Shell intends to incorporate his running backs in the passing game. "That's one of the things I wrote down,'' Shell said. "We need to get the ball to our backs out of the backfield. We need to do that. We need to put more pressure on the defense by doing that.'' Dude had 70 f'ing receptions last year. Granted, Oakland sucks, but this should help Jordan's numbers at least somewhat. Hopefully.

Savage Beatings
From The Desk Of Art Shell: Note to self... Linemen should probably be able to block. Try switching blocking techniques from the current practice of laying down.

Swampnuts
Art Shell is a true genius to have figured this out. No wonder he's a head coach.

Big Score 1
Here's a picture of Art Shell remembering that he's got a pretty good pass catching back on the roster.

Roo
That just sounds idiodic coming from a a coach. Christ, yes trying passing to a guy who was highly successful catching last year. Brilliant. Maybe you'd like to 'incoporate' passing with your QB, and 'incorporate' scoring with your offense. bigdadreed
C'mon, give ol' Art a break. We all know that his offensive coordinator has been running a bed-and-breakfast the last 5 or so years. Sunday is a big day in the B & B world, what with getting that Sunday brunch ready, etc. Dude did not have much time to be keeping up with football. Try switching blocking techniques from the current practice of laying down. talk about not being able to coach....not even the position he was a pro bowler at. gotta give walter like 1.8 seconds compared with the 1.3 seconds brooks got. maybe art watched some other nfl games and saw how sucessful teams were passing to there rb's. BRILLIANT!!
drafter
Come on guys, cut Art some slack. Last time he coached was before they invented the forward pass. Give him a few more weeks, and he will cozy up to the idea that more than the opposing teams defensive backs can catch a pass.

Raider.Nation
What will actually help Lamont, is Andrew Walter. Brooks could escape pressure (I say that, take it with a grain of salt CHook). Walter is a pocket passer, who will be pressured all day long. So hopefully he learns to dump it off to Lamont... Yet TBD.
Scorcher
Art Shell note to self---Randy Moss will get more invovled in the running game!

Yet TBD. BROOKS COULD ESCAPE PRESSURE? are you kidding me? he throws to his damn line men. He stood in the pocket in week 1 like he was planted there 20 years ago, and grew to mighty oak tree. Al Davis could escape a collapsing pocket faster than Brooks. I can't believe I just read that. Have you been watching the Raiders, or just turning it off 3 minutes into the 1st quarter when they're down by 30 points. whew. Sorry about that. I'm a little angry with the whole Raider thing. I got Lamont at the end of 2 and Randy at the end of 3..thought i had made the best pick of the draft.... edit: on second though..no..i'm not sorry for that. Brooks has been doing anything BUT escaping a collapsing pocket. He is bar none, without a doubt, write it down, take a picture, frame it for your grandchildren the WORST QB in the ENTIRE NFL and his play this year will probably guarantee him that title for many many many years. Scorcher
Art Shell---note to self----Starting next week the entire team will stop putting on their helmets backwards. Aaron Brooks will start passing with his feet. The whole team will get invovled with winning.
