MrTed46
I wouldn't care who his backup is. If I were you I would scan the WW and get something better

Vicster
Harrison is the backup. It's listed on any depth chart you look at & he gets the carries to spell Droughns. Well, it's kind of misleading on who is exactly spelling Droughns from what I can see. Harrison had 2 carries in the first game and none the second, though he did have 2 receptions. Wright had no carries in the first and only 1 in the second. Terrelle Smith also had a carry in the first game. Now, I haven't seen any of the Brown's games so I don't know how often Harrison is getting into the game at all and just either being a decoy or not getting any looks when he swings out of the backfield. He seemed to be pretty explosive during the preseason, but that means nothing once the real thing begins. If I had to bet though, I'd be betting on Harrison here as he seems to have the most potential of the group. ps. not disagreeing with you rajn, just pointing out the stats for informative purposes as I agree that Harrison is more likely the backup here, though I wonder about his pass protection ability as is the usual case with rookie running backs in the league. I'd be interested in hearing more, maybe from the likes of KevinL as a Cleveland homer.
loaf
I'm going to have say that Jason Wright is the immediate backup. Harrison's been the third-down, change of pace back. Don't know for sure but just from watching the games, Wright's been doing the subbing while Harrison's been keeping his role. But with no official word, it's just a guessing game right now. loaf
From today's Akron Beacon Journal: Rookie Jerome Harrison appears to be the choice to start if Droughns can't play. The Browns probably will use a combination of backs, with Jason Wright and Lawrence Vickers also seeing time.
DROCK_IN_CT
Yea. I'm actually interested to see what the rook can do. Not expecting much at all against Ravens. The poll on the CLE website has 80% saying they would feel better giving Harrison the rock.

KevinL
It's not clear at all who the backup would be. It ain't Suggs or Green, that's for sure. If I had to play a Browns RB other than Droughns, I would speculate on Harrison, but it could be Wright and FB Lawrence Vickers will likely get some touches as well. Thunder Chicken
I would put my money on Harrison. He put up 155 yds on 25 carries in the preseason, more than any other CLE RB, and 10th in the League for preseason. Caught a pass for a TD against PHI (didn't get any carries), his big game was vs. DET with 53 yds on the ground and 54 in the air with a 31 yd TD; was 9 carries for 70yds v. Buf (Droughns was 8 for 17) he had 32 yds v. CHI. Harrison was the leading rusher with more carries per game than any other CLE RB in the preseason (exluding the PHI game). The 14 yds he put up against NO was on one carry; his other carry went for no gain. Wright saw no carries week 1 and had one touch for -1 yd in week 2. Last year he had more Rushing yards than R. Bush in two fewer games. He is small though, only 5-9 199. So blocking ability may well be an issue. Harrison.
Thunder Chicken
From the Plain Dealer today: Running back Reuben Droughns (shoulder) is listed as questionable but will try to play.
kwolf68
Jim Brown may actually run for more yards than any Cleveland running back this weekend (0 to something negative). This is a dreadful situation.
Thunder Chicken
Harrison Says he is Ready Preseason sensation Jerome Harrison said he doesn’t know whether No. 1 running back Reuben Droughns’ shoulder injury will keep him out of the Baltimore game. If it does? Harrison would probably get five to 15 carries against the NFL’s No. 1-ranked defense. “They just run a lot of different fronts,” Harrison said before Friday’s practice. “Those guys are no different than no other defense, man.” If that didn’t come out quite right, it was clear Harrison isn’t intimidated. What if Harrison gets the ball 15 to 20 times? “That’s a running back’s dream, to carry the load,” he said. “That wouldn’t be no problem.” If Droughns can’t play, Harrison realizes he would be used in some combination with third-year pro Jason Wright.
