Hugh 0ne
You did the wrong thing. You should never veto a trade unless you can prove that there was collusion involved. That trade is pretty fair. They both suck. What's your reasoning for the veto?
FFLJunkie
A first round pick that has played 2 games against stellar run D for A guy that is on the waiver wire in most leagues in a RBBC situation. I dont beleive there is collusion involved it just seems very lopsided to me. If it was week one no one in there right mind would propose a trade like this. Just my opinion

In what league? Jordan is now in an offense that does nothing well. Brooks sucks, Shell doesn't throw to the RB, so take 70 Rec's away from Jordan, Barlow was a starter in SF, and is now the clear #1 RB in NY. Sorry dude, but it's not week 1, it's week 3, and Barlow's value is rising, and Jordan's is in the tank. There is NO WAY that trade should be vetoed. Ever. Pirate lookin' at 40
Agree. No collusion - No veto. As commissioner, it's not your duty to protect people from making stupid moves, not that this was that stupid. You don't veto their waiver wire moves, so why veto the trade? Hugh 0ne
Thanks for the feedback Not trying to be a dick or anything, just giving you my opinion. Is there an un-veto option in your league software?
StingRay
Stupid veto. Now your league doesnt trust you.
Hugh 0ne
One more thing to help put it in perspective, and then I'll shut up: Barlow week 2: 14 carries for 42 yards, 1 Rec for 4 yards. Jordan week 2: 19 rushes for 35 yards. In other words, Barlow was the better option.
FFLJunkie
i know you are not trying to be a dick. I guess I just didnt fully understand what my responsibility's are as Commish. I will throw it out to the 2 involved that if they still want to make the trade I will approve.

Keep in mind, as the commish, it's your job to be fair and preserve the integrity of the league. Unless it's a free league, than it all really doesn't matter anyway. Like I said earlier, pretty much unless it's collusion, you really shouldn't veto.
nmack29
We have a rule in our league that if the commissioner thinks that a trade is either to lopsided, or if someone protests a trade then it is held for review. Basically in this situation the owners would have to state their reason for the trade. Last year I questioned a trade before game 1 becaue it was so lopsided. The owner that was giving up the farm said that he didn't draft the team and was unhappy with our group choices for him - he couldn't make the draft and we all took turns picking for him. We let it go based on his justification. I have also had the commisioner call me and ask my opinion about a trade or 2. Each time I said that it did heavily favor 1 team, but because it was the middle of the year let it go. If it is the next to the last week and the last place team trades Shaun Alexander for TJ Duckett, then you know something is up. I guess my point is that you as the commisioner ultimately have the final say, but maybe you should have consulted either the forums here, or 1 or 2 other owners from your league. I think you are doing the right thing by offering to approve the trade now. Good luck

Hardrocker
First of all you have done the right thing by coming here.... You did however make a mistake. With all due respect to nmack29...his/her league rules are stupid. In the opinion of the commish is a formula for disaster. ex... last year....Willie Parker went in the 15th round in our 10 team league. Jamal Lewis went in the first. At exactly what point would it have NOT been a steal to dump the first rounder for the 15th rounder? On draft day...the order matters...2 weeks in...sure it matters still, but the fact is evidence is building on players that would change how we would draft if we could do so today. Never veto a trade unless you are sure there is collusion or cheating. just my 2 cents... Good luck Hardrocker
