MikesVikes
My youngest son broke his arm in a football game Monday night. He was the 4th football player to show up at the emergency room that night. He was the QB and a defender ran into him and his arm bent in a way that it's not intended to, except that it did anyway. Up to that point of the season the kid has been in on every single play of his team. Offense, defense, and special teams. It wa also the first loss of the year for the squad. Who knew that football was so dangerous? We were at the emergency room long enough to watch most of the MNF.

MikesVikes
4th kid that night? Who were they playing, the Bears? They weren't teammates. They were all from football games in the surrounding area. It was quite a scene at the hospital when my son was wheeled to the X-Ray room, he met another player still in his uniform and they both had their arms bandaged up. He's the second player on his team that's been injured so far this year though.

If it wasn't his throwing arm then y'all should have just put some duct tape on it and let him continue on. Tell him that next time he should suck it up and get on with it. How does he expect to get to the pros? :oldrazz: I hope he is doing okay and in good spirits. Sucks to get hurt doing something you really like. Hopefully he is a fast healer. Savage Beatings
Hope he's ok Mike. Is he in pain, or is that pretty well managed at this point? At least now he can use his cast to pick up the sympathy of all those fine ladies out there. Chicks are suckers for those battle wounds. That sounds like the routine we used around the house this week. He's unconsciences! But can he Play! He's a freshman and a skinny 6 footer. It was his throwing arm. The only game that I missed this year was this one. I think he was trying to avoid the rush and the defender ran into him. He's a tough dude but he's going to have to wait for basketball season now. He seems ok, but it didn't look like much fun when the Doc was pushing his forearm back in place. First comes the needle that was wedged in all different angles while shoved in about an inch. Then the Doc pushes with all his might to snap the arm back where it belongs and I was glad that Mom wasn't in the room at the time. The arm was misplaced by 20 degrees. MV Jr is sure to get the sympathy now.

Ah well, a little adversity makes for stronger character when the going really gets tough. I am sure that he is looking forward to basketball with a vengence. He's unconscience... but he can play. I love it! Sounds like there is a good sense of humor in your household.

Not even CLOSE to signficant functions compared to having to perform rectal swabbing after dropping a deuce using the "off" hand. Try it next time. See what I mean? Three years ago a kid on my 7th grade boys team gets undercut making a layup and ends up smashing into the wall eight feet away. I'm out in a flash because it looks bad. He says it's okay, it's his nuts that really hurt. The ref and I laugh and after the kid gets his breath says he thinks he can shoot his free throw. He goes to the line and shoots an air ball. I get him out of the game but he later insists he's good to go. I let him play a few minutes in the 4th quarter and there's nothing unusual. Next day he shows up with a cast and a broken wrist. I still hear about playing the "kid with the broken arm". Hope your son recovers quickly.
Capt Skinman
Man you guys are rough. My grandaddy was the same way when I broke my arm. I was 8-years-old and broke it while playing at my grandparents house during summer vacation. They told me it was sprained and I was just being a baby. Two weeks go by and I'm back at my house playing outside. I come inside to tell my mom that my arm still hurts really bad and its still swollen and red. She takes me to the doc to find its broken. I never let my grandparents down for that one. Here's to hoping your kid's arm is good by basketball season.

Retrograde assault
Bet he will be good as new in no time. I broke my brothers arm once, we were both standing on our heads and I fell first, right on him!
max
Sorry to hear about your son's arm. I hope he has a speedy recovery. I have broken both arms (right one 2 times and left one 1 time). While it sucks I am sure he will be back to normal before you know it. The thing that will suck for him is the 6-8 weeks will seem like an eternity at his age. Best of luck to your son.
