Ron Burgundy
I'm a little surprised that there aren't more posts on the Coles injury. It's only 2 weks but he has been a very pleasant surprise for me and I'm sure many others. Any news on if he practiced today? Or what the extent of the injury is? Swiss Cheezhead
I, too, am shocked to find that this is the only post about Coles being questionable. I think it's partly because Mangini is so secretive about injuries. Anyway, here's what Stats Inc. is reporting, via Yahoo: Sep 21 Coles was listed as questionable on Thursday's injury report, raising doubts as to whether he'll be able to suit up for the New York Jets when they play Buffalo on Sunday. The wide receiver has a left calf injury and has kept the leg wrapped since Monday. He didn't have a limp during practice on Thursday, but sat out of 11-on-11 drills for the second straight day. Advice: New Jets coach Eric Mangini doesn't allow players to discuss injuries, so all Coles would say on the issue is "i'm doing what I can to get back." He had six catches for 100 yards and a touchdown in last week's loss to New England and has 14 catches for a league-leading 253 yards in the first two games. Without Coles, the Jets offense could struggle against the Bills, although fellow receiver Jerrico McCotchery has stepped up his game.
