i think some might have it, but it's more of a specialty item (so found in more gourmet stores).

edit: stores like harry and david's have it and similar items.

:D UPDATE.........Man this stuff is easy to make.......

Jalapeno Pepper Jelly

3C Jalapenos- seeded & diced ( i used a veg chopper ya smash w/ your hand )

1 1/4 C apple cider vinegar

6 C sugar

1/2 tsp. salt

1 envelope sure jell

1 tsp. margarine

In a sauce pan bring to boil : cider, jalapenos, salt, magarine, sure jell

Then stir in 6 C sugar & boil 1 min. more

After boiling add 7-10 drops green food coloring

Pour into jars...........Makes about 8- 8oz. jars....the sur-jell has some good directions too

It's a really cool green color for Christmas to lay out with cream cheese & crackers for the Holiday

:D ...if i get good enough i'll crank some out for presents....who wants one.... :bash:

Next thing you know she'll be bringing over the K-Y jelly and then all hell starts breaking loose...at least that's been my experience

Do NOT, I repeat, do NOT mistakenly grab the jalapeno jelly when wanting to use the aforementioned KY jelly. (On the other hand, KY has a remarkably satisfying consistency).

How is the jelly everyone had spice wise? I had some over Thanksgiving. It was very tasty but not hot in any sense of the word. In fact it was very sweet. Like I said, it was good, but I was expecting and hoping for some zing.

Let me know how that turns out. I have the recipe for the batch that I had, and liked, but I would be interested in knowing how yours turns out.

My uncle makes a killer habanero jelly. I'll have to hit him up for the recipe over Christmas.

Mine turned out pretty sweet, but with a little kick of hot towards the end. I used 4 jalapenos, 2 with the ribs and seeds and 2 without. I'm going to make it hotter next time. I used red bell pepper as well, so it's got a nice color.

Last time I had it at a restaurant, it was on top of a mess of fried calamari at a Mexican place. Very good.

would make a nice finishing glaze for chicken, duck, or porn loin........ bet it would even be pretty good to finish off ribs.

Another Southern delicacy my mother made (in addition to pepper jelly) was Jezebel Sauce (Also can use for the cream cheese thing.)
