keggerz
i know i should have just bumped the other thread but i was just being lazy.... anyway I took the wife for a long weekend and we were just gonna go to Charlottesville(2hours away). Well I didnt book a hotel because after all it is the offseason. Well once we get to CVille we find out that EVERY HOTEL is booked because Dave F'n Matthews is in town for a concert(Fri/Sat)...we are like are you Fn kidding me....so we decide to drive about an extra hour to a small historical town called Staunton(VA) and low and behold that is where we found gas for $1.91/gallon...in CVille it was around $2.30 and in williamsburg when we left I paid $2.

darin3
I can see the corner Gas station from my office window, here in the SF Bay area today unleaded regular is $2.79 per gallon. I actually paid $2.63 at a Valero down here in Orange County. Supposedly this station is one of the cheaper big-name stations around. Fortunately I don't drive much so these crazy gas prices haven't affected me TOO much.
Big John
I saw it at about $2.169 this morning.
TimC
Keg...Staunton is deep country ;ike where I just moved....$2.04 yesterday to fill up the pick-up. I think the difference between here and the big cities are we aren't required to add ethanol to jack up the price a few cents yet.
Savage Beatings
So when are they going to get rid of that ridiculous 9/10ths of a cent?

I wonder how much of the additional cost is for the strange blends the Cali tree huggers require?

A small part of the difference may be due to CA taxes, but I believe the main reason we pay a lot more in CA is simply supply & demand. They charge as much as they can possible get away with, and not a tenth of a penny less.
H8tank
Saw $1.85 in MO the other day.
Dutch Oven
$2.19 is the cheapest I've seen in the NWA, but SW Mo has it a little cheaper.

skylive5
I've been meaning to compare the taxes here compared to other places. Keep forgetting. This is the latest I can find at the moment... from 1/05: http://www.gaspricewatch.com/usgastaxes.asp Adding in the 18.4 FedTax Washington State comes out at 46.4 cpg. Not the highest, but almost. max
$2.29 for me yesterday and I was happy it was that low. Isn't it crazy that it has gotten to the point that if gas gets close to $2.00 per gallon that we think we are getting a great deal.
