SA hurt; pickup Morris or Maroney?

std. performance scoring. 8-team league.

 

Should I pickup Morris for a short term solution or go after Maroney as a possible starter coming up for the remainder of the year. Will Morris be that effective...SA was not so far this year. Both are on WW.

 

My RBs are, Gore, R. Brown, KJ, DeAngelo

Agreed. Morris is going against the Bears next week. Plus, the Seahawks look to be a passing team this year over the running game. However, and not against the Bears, Morris could get around 50-80 + yards and possibly a TD every game until SA returns.

I'd go with Maroney... Morris won't be the only back in the Seattle backfield, and probably won't get the goal-line looks that SA got.

 

Short yardage, Strong will also figure into the mix... but Morris will get the majority of the carries. Figure he'll be spelled by Strong mostly (I'm guessing he gets the short yardage and goal-line carries), and maybe even Marquis Weeks, who's the 3rd string back with Leonard Weaver out.

 

As a Seattle homer, I've watched Morris all his career in Seattle... he is not a classic every-down back. He'll have to share some of those carries with someone.
