football chick
Ok- So I screwed up when I set up our league. I did not request fractional points - nor did we establish a tie breaker- So on yahoo we are having all kinds of ties in our league which SUCKS. So I want to change the settings to fractional points. Some agree- and some don't- What do I do? Do you think it's too late to change it?? IT is a 10 person league and it is split- 5 want to change it and 5 don't. What do we do for playoffs if we tie??? Grits and Shins
It is too late to change the scoring for regular season, period. Ties are ties. However, you must establish tie-breakers for MAKING the playoffs and tie-breakers for playoff games NOW.
wildkat80
I think perhaps you can change the scoring ONLY if every single team agrees. Grits and Shins
I think perhaps you can change the scoring ONLY if every single team agrees. Well if you read her note she says they can't agree.
wildkat80
Whoops, yeah, then I would *not* change the scoring. Well if you read her note she says they can't agree.
Big Country
Not fair to change the scoring now or gameday tiebreakers unless you have 100% agreement from the owners. But, you must have your playoff/standings tiebreakers in place and you must determine playoff game tiebreakers now.

msmith379
Can ya all help me out on how to establish the tie breakers.... Thanks! Head to head results. If there are ties after that go to who scored the most points in the regular season between the tied teams.
Grits and Shins
Can ya all help me out on how to establish the tie breakers.... Thanks! Some leagues allow teams to specify a tie-breaker player ... in the event of a tie the two players specified by the tied teams are used to break the tie. Some leagues require the tie-breaker player to be from the bench others allow any player to be specified. Some leagues break the tie by giving the win to the team with the highest year-to-date points (doesn't work week 1). Some leagues break ties by giving the win to the fantasy team whose players scored the most actual TDs. I think ties should be broken by the players an owner selected to field and NOT by any player on the bench ... from our rules TIE BREAKERS FOR GAINING A PLAYOFF BERTH OR PLAYOFF BYES. • Head to head competition. If more than 2 teams are involved then there must be a clear winner or loser (partial elimination) for this category to be used. For example if 3 teams are tied, 1 team must have superior head to head results against both other teams (he wins) or 1 team must have lost to both other teams (he loses); if neither is the case then we proceed to tie breaker # 2. In the case of partial elimination, if 1 team has lost to all other teams that are tied then that team will be eliminated and head-to-head will again be considered for the remaining teams. For example, when considering a 3 way tie between teams A, B and C – if teams A and B both defeated team C, then team C is eliminated and the head-to-head results between teams A and B will be used to break the remaining tie. • Divisional record. Only if teams tied are in the same division with partial elimination if more than 2 teams are involved. • Total points scored for the season. Partial elimination is permitted under this tiebreaker. Ex: team 1 - 1250, team 2 - 1175, and team 3 - 1250. Team 2 would be eliminated and teams 1 and 3 would proceed to tie breaker 1. • Highest points against for the season with partial elimination. • Coin toss. • NOTE: Any time there is partial elimination in a tie breaker category then the remaining teams revert back to tie breaker #1. BREAKING A PLAYOFF GAME TIE. • Head to Head comparison of the top player from each team in each position excluding the kicker (QB, RB, WR, TE, DF). The team with the higher scoring player (in the tied playoff game) in more of the positions WINS the tie-breaker. If no positions are tied it takes 3 to win, if 1 position is tied it takes 2 to win, if 2 positions are tied it only takes 1 to win. • The team whose kicker scored the most points LOSES the tie-breaker. • The team whose starting players scored the most actual touchdowns WINS the tie-breaker. • Starting lineup “Efficiency Rating” as posted by the MFL website in the “Weekly Results” report for the game in question and the owners involved. The highest efficiency rating WINS the tie. • Bench points for the game in question. • Tie breakers 1 through 5 of determining playoffs.
