PantherDave
When ESPN Radio was calling out this Sunday's match-ups with the "voice"guy, he states on national radio..the 0-3 Panthers host the 3-0 Saints blah blah. I'm sorry, but between Mort, this kind of swag, and just countless other blunders, well ESPN thinks they are now bigger than the leagues and the games. The old saying of "don't less success go to your head", well this corparation needs to take a time out, as it's a circus of fuggin clowns right now-they flat out suck the meaty one. Yes, but to be the conglomerate they are, and not to know the records of said teams, he also mentioned the Panthers were favored at 0-3....hey jackass, they are 1-2 and with a victory will be within one of the division lead and tied division record wise at 2-1. That is just pure mockery, and it's just not that it was the Panthers, I know all the records of all 32 teams, and a Natl radio show, owned by mega power Disney and ABC does not-fuggin class A pathetic. SteelerMurf
ESPN radio is a waste of time. Mike & Mike (so predictable, one guy picks on the other for being fat and one picks on the other for being feminine, they take different sides of most issues) Colin Cowherd....he is a terd, talks out of both sides of his mouth and has a huge West Coast bias to his opinions Patrick...horrible, only think worse is Keith Oberland who tries to get a hit on Prez Bush every segment....I'm listening for sports. And both talk down to the listeners. Hate ESPN Radio
Jolly Rodgers
The Panthers are 0-3? Didn't they beat the Bucs last week, taking a spleen with them? Those dirty Panthers and their spleen rupturing linemen.
whomper
Mike and Mike is the worst sports radio show of all time..absolutley unlistenable..I tried to listen in on their stone cold locks and it was nothing but a barrage of movie quotes and sound effects and bad jokes..I felt like they thought their audience was 14 years old..Greeney is the most melodramatic guy on the radio..He takes every story to the extreme like its the biggest story in the history of sports..Locally Mike and The Maddog , on show quality, absolutely tea bag Mike and Mike.. alwaysrocking
I do like dan patrick. Although he can get whiney. I could do without keith oberman and his liberal crap. Everything else on espn radio is crap and most of espn t.v. as well. They screwed up monday football announce team all they had to do was bring the sunday night crew over to monday night and it would have been perfect. What a bunch of idiots. Goopster24
I'm not disagreeing with anything being said here as many of the shows on ESPN Radio are somewhat annoying in what they say. Some of the local stuff here in Chicago is bearable though. Anyways, the world would be a lot different with ESPN. They have done a lot for sports fans alike and no one here can truly say they have totally “boycotted” ESPN. Either way, there is no doubt they have taken what they have to a crazy level. kwolf68
I do like dan patrick. Although he can get whiney. I could do without keith oberman and his liberal crap. Does Olberman even have a show on ESPN? He's been a guest on Dan Patrick, but that's all I've ever heard. Maybe he's not on when I listen. In the end, I'd rather not hear politics when listening to sports talk, because sports reporters usually aren't schooled in many of the complex issues in which they seem to project themselves as authorities because someone gave them a microphone (see Rush Limbaugh), but it happens. I have to hear "Conservative crap" when I listen to Steve Szaban, Andrew Siciliano (although he is not a shill and is quite reasonable in his approach the rare times he goes politics), or Tony Bruno. You just gotta learn to be able to handle opinions different than your own and move on. It didn't bother me when Szaban spent all day one day proxy-bashing Liberals when he brought on a Canadian hockey reporter who was really just an angry pissant who just had an ax to grind with people who didn't think exactly like him. I listened, laughed, and got tired of it and turned on some music. Maybe you could do the same. Edited September 27, 2006 by kwolf68
piratesownninjas
Sirius NFL Radio is the only one for me. Actually the reason I got sirius is to get away from espn. I'll talk channel 124 over any other channel on the planet.
Gunther
Sirius NFL Radio is the only one for me. Agreed. I hardly ever listen to ESPN Radio anymore. Actually, I hardly ever listen to free radio anymore.
Randall
Colin Cowherd....he is a terd, talks out of both sides of his mouth and has a huge West Coast bias to his opinions We have a winner. This may just be a dumb mistake. I wouldn't put a lot of stock in it. He probably knows the record of Carolina, but his assistant should have corrected that mistake immediately. That's why they are there.
skylive5
Other than watching the NFL game with the mute button on, I haven't watched ESPN in years. As far as ESPN radio... I have better things to do. ESPN went into the dumps when ABC bought them and they have been steadily going downhill since. Which is a shame as I lived for ESPN when they first came on. PantherDave
It was not Cowherd himself, but the "voice" that is used during all the shows for upcoming this and that events. ESPN is just way to full of it's self nowadays and it really shows. As I said, it seems they believe the "leagues" need them and not the other way around. They are primed for a rival network I believe that would get back to just "sports" and let ESPN bask in the glow of themselves while they self gloat about their phone, magazine, another "Zone" opening, or some new lame "show" on their lame radio network. MikesVikes
ESPN Baseball crew offering up medical analysis regarding Liriano was just plain wrong and stupid. I didn't know ex-jocks didn't have to go to medical school to practice medicine. Maybe they think they can since their medicine cabinets all full of who knows what. Bronco Billy
Have to agree, aside from the local show in the morning, ESPN is torture to the ears & puts out a terrible product. Add their shameless self-promotions that take half their air time it seems, I can easily find something else worth listening to.
Redfish
You guys are being way too critical. Erik Kuselias is among the best radio commentators I've ever heard. His picks come through at an awesome clip, his insight on NFL matchups and fantasy predictions is solid. The Game Night shows and Late Night are fine radio. Patrick has a polarizing style, but he knows sports. I could do without Greenberg and Cowherd, but overall, it's a decent product. Why has the mob (mentality) decided to crucify Dan Davis for a mistake. Big deal.

Its not just this incident, as I stated, "not because it invloves the Panthers", but a compilation of many things from the PS until now. The entire network/corparation has just become so self enamored with itself it's fuggin laughable and this snowball has been gaining size and speed for a few years now. ESPN is not part of any of the leagues, yet seem to assume some type of bravado about being so all the time. They say, "Mort is the best insider [/b]in the league"....ahhh Mort is not, in the league. Then again, it's a free country with freedom of speech etc., so some will continue to love'em and some will continue to be on the fence and some will just flat out despise the "new" atmosphere they exude-Peace PD. SNOWBOUND33
if you can get 670the score out of Chicago from 2-6 you will get some solid perspective on the NFL but it's mostly Bears talk though.
