Dynasty League Trade

I need some serious help. I was offered a trade in my dynasty league (keep ENTIRE team every year). Two considerations: (1) we get 1 pt for every reception on top of yards/td’s and (2) We start 1 RB, 2 WR, and 2 FLEX (RB, WR, or TE).

My current roster is:

Shaun Alexander/Maurice Morris (RB)

Chris Chambers (WR1)

Anquan Boldin (WR2)

Steven Jackson (FLEX1)

Donte Stallworth (FLEX2)

Jason Witten (TE)

Bench: Reggie Brown, Braylon Edwards, Amani Toomer, (no running backs of any stature…Travis Henry is probably next best option)

Trade: Boldin for Gates, straight up.

I would love to get Gates in a dynasty league. However, Boldin has been a scoring machine for me, and with the lack of RB depth, I need a deep receiver pool for my flex position. If Reggie Brown and Braylon Edwards keep producing points on a regular basis, Boldin becomes more expendable. I’m also a little worried that at this point in the season, Gates has not scored much better than Witten. On the other side of the coin, who knows what will happen to Boldin once Leinart takes the wheel.

Does this trade improve my team not only this season, but for seasons to come?

I wouldn't do it. If the league played a TE only position i'd probably do it, but it appears you don't. All things being equal, i'd rather start Boldin over Gates if they can play the same position.

+1... And Whitten will continue to get a lot of looks and overall points - you could be in a worse TE situation.
