Azazello1313
Made potato-leek soup with mine today last weekend I took a gallon and threw in some leftover turkey, quickly softened some carrots, celery, an onion and tossed those in....some poultry seasoning and actually a little herbs de provence....then threw in some leftover white rice right before serving. simple as can be, but it was really quite delicious. homemade stock is good. Gopher
Question, Bier... Can your recipe (in the original post) be done without butter (substituting something else)? My 4 MO is having some food allergy issues, so Mom is avoiding dairy and eggs for a few months. If she uses anything, it's a non-dairy olive oil spread... Could I just substitute that for the butter? I'd like to do a turkey for Thanksgiving, but she won't eat any if there's butter in/on it. But, I also don't want to screw up an entire turkey by substituting something that doesn't work. Bier Meister
you could go with olive oil or that olive oil spread..... it will be different, but won't be ruined.
