xMRogers
In another post, I stated "they need to not look past this week, as if they want to take a game off, let it be Dallas". My point being, if they aren't going to run the table (and that is askign a lot), they need to beat NYG and Atl, plus not lose the only clear "we're the favorite" game with Wash this week. They do that, they are in the playoffs, and the Dallas game doesn't really matter. however, was thinking some more about it - realizign that I think NO has a shot this week to beat Dallas, and I'm pretty confident Dallas won't win their last 8 in a row.....that Dallas game could be more important than I'm making it out to be. If NO wins....that game could be for the East still. I know it's a stretch, and before the last 30 seconds of Monday night's game, even a diehard like me was on the verge of tearing up my bet on the Eagles to win the East (3-1 before the season), but it's not out of the question the way things are now breaking - that one game could be the game that really decides it. Any other bird fans still holding onto that hope?
WorstCoachingEver
No way the Eagles pull off the division crown. Don't be such a homer! You have to go on the road 3X in a row against Division opponents with an aging backup quarterback (whom you booed at on MNF for no reason). Wild card. Maybe. But there are 3 other 6-6 teams and a few at 5-7.
The Next Generation
Not me. I think Garcia is a capable backup, but I'm not that excited about his performance Mon night. He looked lost for most of the game. He made some nice throws and some really terrible ones and made a lot of bad choices (although no INTs, which is great). Sure he had great final stats, but they don't tell the whole story. I did like his toughness, though (yeesh, did I just say that about the Rat?). Also, the D is still a sieve when it comes to stopping the run. Hey, if they make the plaoffs or win the division, I'll be as happy as the next Eagles fan but I'm not holding out hope for either. Too inconsistent this year w/McNabb, so Garcia-led is almost impossible IMO.
Rockerbraves
Sorry but Garcia can not do what your Eagle team need him to do. Eagles are out of the playoffs.

DAL 8-4 ... 2-3 NYG 6-6 ... 3-1 PHI 6-6 ... 2-1 WAS 4-8 ... 1-3 Dallas is on a 4 game winning streak and does not have to win the next 4 to win the division. If they win 2 out of the 4 they will be 10-6. Since the Giants and Eagles play week 15 clearly the loser won't be able to get to 10 wins. With Garcia under center I don't believe the Eagles can win both games on the road against the Giants and the Cowboys ... more likely they will lose both. 3 out of the next 4 games Dallas is at home, their one road game is at Atlanta. Don't disagree with the "what most likely will happen". I was stretching the limits with my green tinted glasses. With those, let's say Dal loses to NO this week (and that's possible - odds against, but definitely possible) and we beat Wash. Then we go to NY - if they lose to Carolina, they officially implode and i can see all kinds of craziness going up there to the point we may actually roll, but let's at least give us a shot - so we pull off a close one (and Dallas wins). At that point, Dallas is 9-5, we're 8-6 - we go to Dallas. Third road game in three weeks all in division againts the best of the three teams - on paper no shot. But where i'm really going witht his is that would be a HUGE game - as if we win, we lead the division as we'll have taken both. Now, that's asking a lot, and I don't expect many to give it more than a slim chance (he11, I don't give it more than a slim chance), but it's possible..... Agree on all points most made - I do like garcia (as the backup) but he's serviceable, not great. The defense is still giving up too many plays and bend/don't break doesn't work as a strategy. The fans shouldn't have booed Garcia coming back in there (I really can't believe that's what they were booing). But it's possible.

Philly has to win in WAS this week, which they are certainly capable of ... but they are also capable of losing. And Dallas has to lose to the Saints at home. I am a little nervous about the big play ability of the Saints, but in the end I believe Dallas wins at home. Assuming Philly takes out WAS that will put Dallas at 9-5 and Philly at 7-6 with 3 games left to play. That's a tough row to hoe.
TDFFFreak
The bottom line truth is that even if the Eagles make the playoffs, I expect very little when they get there because Garcia is no McNabb and the defense against the run has been woeful. I want something to root for going into the last couple games of the season so I am hoping we can make it, but I am not fooling myself overall. The good news as far as the playoffs go for the Eagles is that they AND the others who they are competing against for the wildcard all play each other a lot in the last month of the season. So the Eagles do control their own destiny. Edited December 7, 2006 by TDFFFreak
Clubfoothead
They could make the playoffs. I think the Giants are better so I don't see them winning the division no matter what.

They were showing the replay over and over in the stadium. We were pissed that they didn't throw a flag on the play. The Monday Night Football crew is just too narrow minded to pick up on that. Hell, they started the broadcast talking negatively about the fans in Philly. It was this weeks non-informational story line by the clowns at ESPN. Agree and agree.....but is there anyone in the NFC besides prob. Dallas and a Griese led Chicago (i'm assuming Grossman can't change his stripes in a month) that we couldn't beat. And with that, a bounce here and there, and the NFC conf champ game isn't out of the question. Then, somehow, the defense gets back on track, Westbrook has game of life and Garcia says "playing for a contract baby so me and my life-partner are set for life" and all of a sudden it's SB time. wait, where am i? How long have I been out?

Pirate lookin' at 40
Maybe Dallas doesn't win their final 8 games. But, there is no way that the Eagles win their final 5. And you can take this to the bank: THE EAGLE WILL NOT BEAT DALLAS IN DALLAS...PERIOD. I think that it's a stretch that the Eagles get into the playoffs. Where were you sitting or who did you talk to that went to the game? Because everyone spoke to that went to the game said they fans were booing the non-call of roughing the passer. I was told some people were booing at first because they wanted Feeley in there, but in this particular case it was the refs they were booing. Menudo
Philadelphia is the type of town and fan base that would openly embrace a homosexual quarterback. Thats why I dont believe they were booing Jeff Garcia... True, I really do wish that pathetic sports town would at least do something. I live in Central Pennsylvania, and the ground seriously tilts to the West, which makes it very uncomfortable to walk. The Western side of the state is weighed down with all of the Championship trophies.
