JetFanMike
OK -- 4 teams, all in the playoffs. All are standard scoring, no PPR. I've limited my options quite a bit, but all you opinions on any or all of these would be greatly appreciated. I'll be answering a bunch of yours too!! All the players are in bold, my current preferences are in blue. And the first question is by far the one I care about most. Team #1 -- My only question is WDIS at WR -- please pick 2 of of Donald Driver (vs. Det), Marvin Harrison (vs. Cin), or Marques Colston (vs. Wash). This is tough -- Driver hurt himself last week but should be good to go, Colston is coming off an injury but looked fine last week, has the best matchup and isn't even on this week's injury report, and Harrison's playing theoretically the best defense and has to share receptions with Reggie Wayne, although the Indy-Cincy game could and should be a shootout. I'd actually use all three of these guys and play a WR at flex (which I normally hate to do), but I have Rudi Johnson and Frank Gore both playing. I want to start all three -- please help me pick two! And in case it matters, Drew Brees is my QB.... Team #2 -- I have questions at RB and TE. Please pick one of each -- Chester Taylor vs. the Jets or Maurice Jones-Drew at the Titans; IF Mojo is healthy and Fred Taylor isn't, I think I've got to go with Mojo's big play and TD potential, if Chester's healthier than Mojo I'll use Chester. Alge Crumpler vs. the Cowboys or Jeremy Shockey vs. the Eagles. Shockey's been performing better lately, but if Dunn and Norwood are both out the Falcons will need to throw, and Alge's the only one on the team who catches the ball. Team #3 -- I have questions at QB and RB. Please pick one of each -- Brett Favre vs. Det, Jon Kitna at GB, or Eli Manning vs. the Eagles. I have no idea what to do here -- I think Eli has the worst matchup, and Favre over Kitna is based primarily on going with the home team. Chester Taylor vs. the Jets or Fred Taylor at the Titans. Both have great matchups and health issues, but IF Chester plays he'll get a higher percentage of carries than Fred does. Of course, if Fred is healthy and Mojo Drew isn't, then I might go with him.. Team #4 -- I have questions at QB and WR. Please pick one of each -- Matt Hasselbeck vs. SF or Jon Kitna at GB. I'm leaning strongly towards Hasselbeck because even without DJax, I think he's a much better player, and I expect the Seahawks to put up more points than the Lions. Kitna WILL have to throw through. Larry Fitzgerald vs. Denver or Andre Johnson at NE. Even though Fitz has a horrible matchup, I think Denver's defense has not been as strong lately, and he's a better bet to do something than Andre. Team#1: I think you go with Driver and Harrison. While I LOVE Colston...I think the other receivers...and Reggie are garnering more looks from Brees. Henderson was in the doghouse most of the beginning of the season....now he is out and performing and has the trust of Brees on the deep ball.....I think Colston will be solid...just not as good as Driver...and of course you start Harrison in the shhot out. Team#2: I like Chester Taylor after one week of rest. Vilma made on tackle last week...ONE. They are horrible against the run and to show it...Kerry Rhodes leads the team in tackles...a safety!!! As for your TE...I think you go with Crumpler....I think Shaub will play at QB with Vick at RB some....in that set Crumpler on the post will be HUGE. Team#3: Favre and Kitna are a tossup, so Brett at home makes loads of sense. I like Chester over any Jags running back. The Titans are not the Indianapolis Colts...they have Haynesworth up front and Thornton, Bullock, and Sirmon cleaning up behind them. Go with Chester!!! Team#4: First...there is going to be a reincarnation of hurrican Katrina in Seattle...so unless Branch is going to take handoffs...start Kitna. As for the WR...start Fitz...why??? Bailey will certainly cover him...but he will also cover Boldin...and will probably match up against Bryant Johnson a couple of times. I think Leinart is smart enough to make throws to whomever Darrent Williams is covering...remembering what Reggie Wayne did to him!!! Go with FITZ. Those were my eight cents...two for every team!!! Gros Membres!
Team 1 - while Colston is tempting Driver and Harrison have been hot lately. I don't think the shoulder injury is much. I wouldn't think twice about starting a dinged Driver over Colston who will have to work himself back into the rotation. Driver and Harrison are great plays, imho. Team 2 - Taylor os tempting, great matchup, etc. But you cannot deny that MJD @ Tenny is too good to pass up. I think MJD is less risky as Taylor should be out (continue to monitor the reports but hamstrings are tricky things) and Taylor could possibly split some time or get dinged again. I like MJD here. Crumpler, no doubt as he should be integral to their success this week. Team 3 - Favre over Kitna due to the lack of KJ and Kitna has the highest TD to INT ration in the league. Granted, Favre has only seven INTs less than Kitna and 3 more TDs. Favre is the way to go and has been solid. Chester over Fred. Team 4 - Stick with Hass and Fitz. Both should perform well - Hass will have a nice game against a porous 49ers D at home. Fitz should have some opportunities with a short field/Cutler turnovers. I like Fitz this week as Bailey can't cover Fitz and Boldin. Go Fitz. Good luck and hope this helps. Thanks for responsing to mine.
NatiTime
Team #1: To me is a no brainer. I would defnitly go with Harrison, the Indy/Cincy game will be a shootout till the end. Even if he shares receptions with wayne, who is the better reciever this year, he will get his yards and TD's. The second WR i would go with is Colston, you can't ignore what the Saints and Brees have done....ride that train while it lasts. Team #2: This one you will have to watch. Taylor might be hurting from the ribs which makes him one shot from sitting ont he sidelines. With Drew you at least have a player that will get his carries no matter what...and there is a slight chance that FTaylor will be limited in this game. I would go with Drew. As for TE i like your thinking about Crump, but i don't like it agianst the DAL D...i go with Shockey here. Team #3: I go with Kitna over either of the others. I think that Eli is off limits this week and between Kitna and Favre i don't think you could go wrong. But Kitna has been far better than Favre during this season. Also go with FTaylor because of possbile injury to Chester...but watch these two during the week Team #4: QB is easy, go with Hasselback against thw worst passing D alive. As for your WR on this team i would actually go with AJ, because HOU will be playing catch up all game and i think AJ gets the ball a great deal here There you go please check out mine and offer advice

JetFanMike
Thanks guys -- a lot of good thoughts, and most are pretty straightforward consensus decisions... I'll start Harrison and Driver over Colston (although I WILL watch for late news on Driver's health; if he's less than 100% I'll switch in Marques), and I'll go with Larry Fitz over Andre. At RB, Mojo over Chester, but Chester over Fred (again, all these guys health is worth watching) And at one QB spot, Favre over Kitna or Eli Nati -- you were the only guy with a somewhat different opinion, but I appreciate where you're coming from. I think you might have done some "overthinking" on some of it (talk about the pot calling the kettle black!) There are still two I'm somewhat on the fence about. Shockey vs. Crumper and Hasselbeck vs. Kitna. I'm going to put in a separate post with more details...

thehype
Team #1: Driver and Harrison. I like Colston too, but with Horn sitting out, Washinton will look to shut him down so that means Henderson, Copper, Bush, Karney or anyone else will score. Surprisingly, the Saints actually spread the ball around more than the Colts. Team #2: Definitely Shockey. Taylor if he's healthy and ready to go, MoJo if he's not. Team #3: Favre vs. Detroit and again, Taylor (Chester that is) if he's healthy and ready to go, Fraud if he's not. Team #4: Hasselback and Fitz. Any advice for me: http://forums.thehuddle.com/index.php?showtopic=190845
Swampman
Team #1 - Harrison & Driver Team #2 - Shockey & Taylor (Keep an eye on Taylor's health) Team #3 - Favre & Taylor Team #4 - Hasselbeck & Fitz
TheShiznit
I would just point out JFM that unless Hasselbeck is gonna get points for handing off...then I would start Kitna. 70 mile an hour wind gusts...sustained winds in the 30's. Not conducive to a passing attack. It might be cold in Green Bay..it might not. But at least the ball flies straight in the cold!!! Food For Thought. JetFanMike
Thanks guys -- I think I've convinced myself to go with Kitna. I realize he'll probably throw a couple of picks, but I expect about 300 yards and a couple of TD's too. I think Shiznit is 100% correct about Hasselbeck tonight. Dupydog
1. Driver and Harrison - Assuming Driver is healthy, he gets one of the worst defenses and is hot right now. I'd pick Harrison over Colston just b/c it's Marvin Harrison. He's also gonna be in a shootout, and one mediocre game from Colston doesn't convince me his ankle is 100%. 2. MOJO and Crumpler - I love Chester, but MOJO is hot and the Titans D is not good. Plus Chester may be limited even if he does play. I don't think you can go wrong with Crumpler or Shockey. Slight edge to Crump since Atlanta will be playing from behind and will need to throw. 3. Favre and Chester - Favre is home against one of the worst passing D's. Kitna always gets you picks and Lambeau is not QB friendly, while Eli is just too inconsistent. I go with Chester since both Taylors are banged up, but Fred is in more of a committee. 4. Hasselback and Fitz - Hasselback is a stud AND has a great matchup to boot. You should be ashamed if you went with Kitna over him. As for the other, yet another tossup, but slight edge to Fitz as I think NE defense will be angry this week. Please answer mine with details as I answered 4 for you: http://forums.thehuddle.com/index.php?showtopic=190957
manc68
Team 1 Colston and Harrison. Colston only played a part in last weeks game and was taken out. In that little part, Drew Targetted him almost to the excluion of everyone else. Ride that baby as long as you can! on the others, I think you are right on with your preferred choices. Please see mine: http://forums.thehuddle.com/index.php?showtopic=190976
