Day Spas

Fellas and Ladies,

I'm considering giving my GF a gift certificate for a day spa package.

My question is this. Is that something she could do by herself or would she need to find a friend with whom to do it?

Since I am not fabulous, I have no interest in doing it with her and the salon I'm considering may be out of the price range of her friends.

Your assistance is appreciated.

Nope, something she can do all by herself. Besides, it's better this way, now she'll have bragging rights. Good choice!

This can be done either way but I would do it just for her. I do this for my wife every year here and she absolutely loves it:

Hershey Spa

She will usually get her best friend a gift certificate there for her b-day in November and they go there after the first of the year. Her friends hubby and I take the kids for the day and they get to relax. Now if we could only get them to really relax together that would be something to see :D

My wife actually got me a spa package not long ago. I'm not easy to buy for so she constantly challenged with finding things that I wouldn't expect. Gotta say, it was actually pretty freaking nice.

In answer to your question, sometimes it can be cool if she goes with a friend but it is not important. The resort based spas have super nice saunas, hot tubs, and lounges where they can hang out all day prior to or between whatever particular things they're having done. So in that case, she's likely appreciate some friends being around. My wife and I went to Pinehurst Resort for some winter weekend deal and the place was covered in snow so we just hung out in a place like that for the afternoon. Didn't suck that a women's college golf tourney was scheduled (and snowed out) that weekend so the place was filled with young ladies.

The place my wife sent me to a few months ago was not such a place and I can't imagine why anyone would care if their friends were there as well. You just go from one room to the next.

my wife has gone to spas by herself... and with a friend..... but, unless it's been a friend's b-day or whatnot, they each have paid for their own treatments.... if you wanted to take that burden off of a friend that might go with her, that would be generous, but not expected.

So Metro-boy, how was it? Did you feel fabulous afterwards?

The massage was nice but I've had better. I've had a lot of legit massages and this didn't stand out but it rarely sucks to get a massage.

The sea-clay wrap was pretty intense. After you're thoroughly coated in wet clay, they wrap you in steamed towels and put you under a lamp for about 20 minutes. Then you go into this crazy shower with like 5 showerheads. You will likely never feel as clean again. My face, in particular felt very good.

The manicure was a complete waste of time. I would have likely opted out of that had I known what the package was.

All in all, it's just nice to be taken care of.

Well, at least you're down with the sea-clay wrap. That's cool.

But really, are you actually implying that you'd be :D about accepting a professional massage? Do you prefer aches to relief?

Please see Bunz reply above ... I'd be all down for massages.

I would consider manicures to be a little less manly though.
