In the D-II Championship Game, Grand Valley State University faces Northwest Missouri State in a rematch of last year's title game.

Interesting Game Notes:

Both GVSU and NWMS are undefeated this season with GVSU riding the crest of a NCAA high 27 game winning streak.

Last year's game went down to the final play as GVSU tackled NWMS receiver Raphael Robinson at the 4 yardline as time expired to preserve a 21-17 victory.

GVSU and NWMS have been ranked #1 and #2 since the beginning of the season.

Overview

Grand Valley State University's NCAA Division II football team is the first athletic team to bring national attention to GVSU. After a national runner-up finish in 2001, losing to the University of North Dakota in the national championship game, GVSU completed the 2002 season with a perfect 14-0 record by defeating Valdosta State University, and winning the school's first-ever NCAA Division II National Championship. GVSU followed that success with a second National Championship in 2003 with a 13-1 record, avenging the 2001 loss and defeating North Dakota in the championship game. GVSU was knocked out from the playoffs in 2004 by North Dakota in the now realigned playoff regions in the Northwest Regional Finals. GVSU returned to the national spotlight the following year, with the third National Championship for the football team in four years, and fourth trip to the National Championship game in five years. Over that five-year span, GVSU has been arguably one of the most dominant college football teams in NCAA history. GVSU's win percentage and average margin of victory since 2001 have outpaced such great teams as the University of Southern California, the University of Texas, and Ohio State University (NCAA Division IA) of the same era. The only NCAA football program with a higher winning percentage than GVSU is NCAA Division III's Mount Union College (93-3 [.965] 2000 season through 12/1/2006).

A real funny guy! Dont skip class because he teaches a things a bit differently than the book does. Study hard and get help!

What? Are you pulling stuff off the huddle boards and teaching it to your students? "Class, tomorrow's assignment is to write a paper on skins and h8tank." :D
