brees (had mcnabb)

LT (turner)

Dillon

Owens

Harrison

Crumpler (WR/TE)

Nedney

MINN

Week15:

was up by 5 with Harrison going and my opponent having Wayne and Chad. Thought I was done... but I guess having two of the most humble guys in the league (LT and Harrison) surpass my TO negativity and I got the good karma!

Whoo-hoo ... I made it in the Championship Match in my Yahoo league. :D

I'm amazed because my team has been killed with injuries and/or bad play. I drafted Edge, Lamont and Kevin Jones. Only KJ delivered for me when I needed him.

Here's what I have now (be sure to hold your nose):

QB: Mark Bulger/Tony Romo (Bulger has been killing me/fortunately I was able to grab Romo before anyone else did)

RB: Edge/M. Drew/T. Jones/T. Henry/DeAngleo Williams/Sammy Morris

WR: M. Colston/Marty Booker/Andre Johnson/Donte Stallworth/Mike Furrey

TE: Tony Scheffler (I've had trouble at TE all year long ... picked TS up when Cutler began starting)

DEF: Ravens (studs all freakin' year)

K: Matt Stover (pretty good for a kicker)

Probably don't have a chance. But stranger things have happened. :D

Playing for Championship next week:

QB - Favre or Campbell

RB - Tomlinson & C. Taylor (Maroney)

WR - Holt, Evans & Booker (Mason, Caldwell)

TE - Heap (Watson)

PK - Tynes (Longwell)

DT - Bills (Vikings)

FLEX - QB, RB, WR or TE

Just lost by three points on MNF thanks to Harrison and Palmer... yes I had Palmer.

Better fix my sigline. :D

I'm in four leagues, in the championship game in three of them. My lineups are:

QB Brees --------------- Peyton ------------ Hasselbeck

RB Rudi J --------------- Gore -------------- S. Jackson

RB Gore ---------------- Chester ------------ R. Brown/Chester

WR M. Harrison -------- Wayne ------------ Holt

WR Driver/Colston ---- DJax/Colston ------ Driver/J. Walker

TE Gates -------------- Gates ---------------- Crumpler

PK Kaeding ----------- Kaeding -------------- Carney

In all my leagues, I've mixed and matched defenses a lot based on matchups.

See my next post for some comments and observations...

I looked at a few of these, and then started thinking about what players I would EXPECT to see on championship teams, or more accurately who I would expect to see on playoff teams first. And the obvious answer is players who exceed expectations -- for example, LT (even as the #1 overall pick) got you a lot more than you expected. S. Alexander, on the other hand, did much worse. But the bottom line is if everyone picks a 1st round RB and they all do comparably (ie, guys like Rudi Johnson, or Steven Jackson, or Ronnie Brown, or Tiki Barber), none is more likely than others to do well.

So here are the guys (off the top of my head) who I think greatly exceeded expectations compared to draft spot:

QB -- Drew Brees and nobody else

RB -- LT, Frank Gore, Chester Taylor; maybe Mojo Drew

WR -- Driver, maybe Lee Evans or Lavernues Coles

I have Brees on one team, Gore and Driver on two each, and Chester on three, so obviously had some luck.

The reason Mojo is a maybe, and the reason that I omitted Marques Colston, is that they may not have been drafted, and theoretically

weak teams might have had a better chance to pick them.

Similarly, the guys who I would think were LEAST likely to be in the playoffs were ones who drastically underperformed; mainly RB's like Alexander, Cadillac Williams, and Lamont Jordan

For teams I'd expect to see in the playoffs, they'd be guys on the "playoff" list who've also been hot lately -- I think LT and Gore are the two obvious ones.

Anybody agree??

Trying to repeat in a 16 team big money redraft (spent my 3rd rounder last year on LJ)

I had the #1 pick

Romo (lost Mcnabb and Simms...grabbed and sat on Romo since the tuesday following week 1)

LJ

MoJo (12th round pick) (Dayne, S.Morris, Turner, Griffith, Pinner)

TO

Evans

Berrian

Winslow

Vinitieri

Balt (SD)

going against the #2 pick...

Palmer

LT

SJax (S.Davis)

Harrison

Hackett (DJax)

Chambers (Curry, A.Bryant, Reg.Williams)

Desmond Clark

Kaeding

Vikes (Phili)

he was able to pull off trades for Palmer, SJax, and DJax...We both ended the regular season at 10-3 but I edged him by 42 points...the next closest team was about 270 points back...he currently has an 11 game winning streak...

I'd say as long as LaDanian continues to do his thing, I should have two championship and some nice extra coin to ring in the new year. **By the way, ebartender if you're reading this, I'm MOST looking forward to spending your $100 this offseason!!! :D

I have receive more of your league fees then you have received from me.

QB - Vick, Favre, Grossman - I have no idea who to play. Who Should I Sit?

RB - L Johnson

RB - B Westbrook

WR - M Harrison (got him in a trade for Frank Gore)

WR - M Colston (also have Holt and Driver on Bench)

TE - Crumpler

K - Scobee

D - Bears

My team is awesome. I managed to go 7-6-1 somehow. Got lucky to win last week w/ Favre's big fat gooseegg in my lineup.
