Poor old Westy. What's he gotta do to prove himself? I put him ahead of Parker, Rudi, Peyton, Drew and maybe even Alexander. :D

6 and 12 do raise a brow or two. MJD will still be in a RBBC and Tiki is gone. I have Ronnie Brown in my keeper but don't know about him now. Also SJ jumps LJ.

I thin MJD will be the starter and if that is true he is a DEFINITE first rounder, he put up first round #'s splitting with Taylor this year and it's only gonna get better next year and I'll believe Tiki is gone when the season starts and he's NOT there.

Doesn't Taylor's contract end after this season? MJD would make top 10 for me as well if he was the man in Jax.

I'd probably throw a healthy Chester Taylor up there at the end of this list ahead of Ronnie Brown (and the retired Tiki Barber). And no way does Peyton Manning get into my first round rankings.

Get Peyton out of there and put in Chester Taylor.

Besides that, looks great.

Might as well take Tiki off that list, he aint comin back *sigh*

My list from another thread:

FWIW, here is my top-10 for next year:

LT

Sjax

LJ

Gore

Alexander

Westbrook

Parker

Brown

McGahee

Rudi

Portis slips out in my book, just because of the uncertainty Betts brings to the equation. MJD/Maroney/Addai etc. need to show me that can do it for a full-year, carrying the full load, before I'd drop a 1st-round pick on them. Note each of these rookies were nicked/out at various times this year....I need to see it for 16 games, 25 carreis a game....rather than having the benefit of being fresher since they each only play half a game.

I'd have Westbrook as #4 if I was absolutely sure the knee was 100%.

You won't see Vick or Bush in my first round at all next year and Peyton manning is a top Five fantasy scorwer AGAIN this year so he will continue to be a first rounder cuz afterall, POINTS WIN FANTASY!!!

All ahead of Maroney, Jamal, MJD, Addai, Portis, Lamont, Norwood.....???

Drew Brees(that's really stretchin it)

Adrian Peterson(He's got to get the staring Job First and get a year under his belt). Jacobs is a 2nd rounder if he starts he may be a first rounder in 2008 if he shows he's a complete game back.

Maroney - Dillon won't retire after this year

Jamal - Anderson there, wear & tear and injury history,

MJD - too small, Fred Taylor there (possibly most over-rated RB next to Bush)

Addai - Rhodes there, probable RBBC

Portis - Betts went wild & will get a shot at some work, injury history not good (will be a 2nd round steal)

Lamont - ugh. No thanks, and definitely not a 1st rounder

Norwood - Dunn still there, and Vick steals too many rushing yds

Jacobs slips right into Tiki's spot seamlessly, albeit in a completely different role as the Giants go more traditional on O with their weapons.

Peterson is going to walk into an ideal starting position with some team & will be a very good pro.

Other than Houston, New York Jets where would peterson start next year??

Green Bay. Tampa Bay. Cleveland. Denver.

Besides, this is all speculation anyhow right now. Michael Turner ending up on the Jets or elsewhere might push his stock up a ton, for example.

I'd be shocked if Calhoun doesn't take that job & run with it if Martz is still OC.

I'll take a whack at it just for discussion purposes:

1.01 LaDainian Tomlinson - Obviously

1.02 Larry Johnson - OK, but think O-line here

1.03 Steven Jackson - Maybe #2?

1.04 Shaun Alexander - Too high, should be #6

1.05 Frank Gore - #4

1.06 Willie Parker - too high, #7

1.07 Peyton Manning - I don't draft QBs in round one, but that's just me

1.08 Rudi Johnson - #9

1.09 Brian Westbrook - #5

1.10 Ronnie Brown - OK

1.11 Willis MaGahee - #8

1.12 Reggie Bush - what about Deuce?

1.13 Brandon Jacobs - will he start?

1.14 Adrian Peterson - not a chance

Edited to put MaGahee into 1.11

My take, FWIW.

Oh yeah - MJD at 1.10, move the rest down a notch.

My take, FWIW

I agree with some of your sentiments, but someone always drafts Manning in rd 1, don't they? & the Bush love is so overwhelming for some that I don't think someone is going to be able resist waiting until rd 2 to draft him. I won't be drafting either guy unless they drop quite a bit, but someone will.

I also agree that SA is too high, but I think someone will take an early risk on him (and it may pay off. He was money for 5 years before this year). Westbrook always drops too far - just like Barber used to. Depending upon the situation, that may be me trading down to 1.14 to take Peterson there. I think he is going to be a stud at the next level, and with where he'll be drafted in the NFL the incumbant will not be able to hold him off.

Good feedback, though. :D That's just my perspective, and that ain't worth much more than discussion generation at this time of the year.

I don't disagree with most of that. I'm not sure Peterson will land with a team that will be in a position for him to be 14th in scoring but I've seen the light with that guy.
