Sugar Magnolia
Where's the best and safest site to download free music?
TheGrunt
I've never used one of these online websites to download free music, but I'm pretty sure you can look into this place. I think I remember one of my friends using it, so feel free to check it out.
evil_gop_liars
Music is not free, you pay for the right to listen to music but only you can listen to it. You can never share it EVER. To make sure you are the only one listening to the artist's music....we will break your computer.

untateve
I use this site: http://allofmp3.com/ It's not free, but it's ridiculously cheap. In addition, I don't have to worry about downloading a virus or some record company employee making an example of me and taking me to court for illegal activity. I mentioned that one a week or so ago and someone got on his soapbox...don't remember who. I have friends that use it that swear by it, I have not used it though. The only way I see to recharge my account is to use the alltunes account thingy. Then the only credit card I recognize is Diner's Club. Do you use another way? If so you can't beat this price.

Kid Cid
this part of etree uses Bittorrent... you need some programs that are free for Bittorrent and converting to mp3 or wav feel free to pm me with questions If you're into live and or leagally shareable music, then this site is about as good as it gets. I've picked up some AMAZING Dead recordings here along with Robert Randolf, Bela Fleck and the Radiators amongst others. Well worth the time to learn the tools to do this if this is your kind of thing. Of course they care about the fidelity of the music here so lossy mp3s are not to be found here. Personally, I use Azureus as my Bittorrent client. Nice interface, but it takes a while to dial it in. Mostly because it seems to be written by a bunch of Brits and nothing quite makes sense from teh way that it's named. Once you get it though, it's pretty easy to work with. Like Yukon said, if you go this route and have questions, feel free to PM.
Clubfoothead
I got to the band's webiste, record label, myspace page and pure volume page. If it's not free among those 4 options, I pay for it.

Egret
I just added $10 with my mastercard. I'm trying to add money with this screen. Should I be doing it somewhere else on the site... or does your account look different?
untateve
My screen looks similar only without the problem of "no credit card payment available". The only card I saw it took was mastercard. I click on the "Balance" screen and this is what I get: https://ssl.allofmp3.com/balance.shtml?ses=1873705589 I then click on "refill balance" and I get this: https://ssl.allofmp3.com/pays/payments.shtml
