PantherDave
Perhaps some truth, and here is why, the Panthers got to where they needed to be cap wise with restructuring etc. They are now re-working some of Peppers deal to perhaps free up about 10-15 million more.....for what? Maybe Fletcher and Morgan to man the MLB for a year where they are younger overall at in the LB corp than the DB's, so shore up the middle and draft Reggie Nelson outta UFa to play S. Randall
CHARLOTTE, N.C. (March 1, 2007) -- Dan Morgan and Mike Rucker will return to the Carolina Panthers next season after agreeing to restructured contracts. The Panthers also restructured quarterback Jake Delhomme's contract and released veteran special-teams player Karl Hankton. Morgan's future with Carolina had been uncertain since he suffered at least the fifth concussion of his career in the 2006 season opener against Atlanta. Doctors told him to sit out the final 15 games, and Morgan declared he was cleared to play in 2007 on Jan. 1, the day after the Panthers finished a disappointing 8-8 season. The middle linebacker was due a roster bonus. The reworked deal makes his contract more salary-cap friendly. Still, there are questions about Morgan's ability to stay on the field. He has missed 40 of 96 games in his six-year Panthers career because of concussions and other injuries. Studies have shown players with multiple concussions are more likely to suffer additional concussions, and there are concerns about long-term damage. PantherDave
Fletch would be a nice stop gap for a season, allow them to nab Reggie Nelson at 14 and then address MLB in FA next season or the draft. However, if Patrick Willis is there at 14, I say they grab him as well.

Give me Patrick Willis the 2007 NFL Defensive Rookie of the Year. <Remember!!! Ya herd/saw PD say this the 1st day of the new season>. Bring Back Pat!!!
Adalius Thomas and Fletcher-Baker.. to sign with SF and Wash, respectively. Pretty much agreed to terms allready, before FA opens. Was hoping the Pats would be in the running for both these guys. Also, they mentioned that it looks like the Vikes have a lot of interest in Daniel Graham. Which is fine with me, see ya later :
