Vicky
Live in New Orleans for awhile or work in a bar there and I guarantee you'll either have it happened or see it. I'm pretty sure Skins has had a few guns pointed in his direction down there as well. Ick, I can't imagine...
twiley
Ick, I can't imagine... I'll take a good punch in the face anyday over a gun. Anyway, back on track, truly sad situation.

No, my thought is that they'll probably try and contact family before they release who was killed.
Vicky
I'm sure it will be at least several more hours before the public sees or hears the names of the victims. First the dust has to settle, they need to notify family, etc... Every time I look, the death toll goes higher. Now it's anywhere from 30 to 32. Menudo
Tragic. It is a scary world that we live in. I know it is 'cliche', but, we need to appreciate every day that we are given.
polksalet
Wow what a funny joke. I bet you had some great 1-liners right after 9/11 too. is it not true? nerds are usually the ones who do this stuff.
Footballjoe
I just heard that one of the female students killed was from my area but they would not release her name. My best friend from High School went to VT and was an engieering student. I spent many weekends up there.

Ursa Majoris
2 9mm pistols they are saying Jeez, he must have changed mags at least five, six or seven times (assuming 13 rounds per mag).

frenzal rhomb
What I cant believe is the death toll. Seems like he killed nearly everyone he shot. When Columbine went down these kids spent probably hundreds of rounds and killed 11(?). This guy killed 31 so far.

This two-hour gap between the two shooting incidents is troubling. A VT student who called into MSNBC said nobody knew about the first shooting until after the second one happened, and the campus was not locked down until after the second one occurred. Assuming this is true, the VT administration and the campus cops are going to have to face tough questions about all this.

"On the first day of the school year last August, Virginia Tech was shut down because of concerns that a gunman was on campus. The man, an escaped inmate accused of killing a sheriff's deputy and a security guard, was later captured on the school grounds. The campus, about four hours southwest of Washington, was shut down for the day. Families trying to find students are advised to meet them at the Inn at Virginia Tech.
