Who were you in highschool?

I did pretty much what I wanted to do in high school. I was a prep, I played a different sport each year, did two musicals :D , was on the school paper each year and editor one year. I hung out with guys from different groups, but mainly jocks. I grew up down the road from Michigan State. I still live in the town where I grew up. Coming up with excuses to get out of school was my favorite activity.

One year I forged a note that said I had a standing psychiatrist appointment every Thursday afternoon. I correctly guessed that nobody would check into that. I'd then take off with a friend or two and go to Michigan State for the day. That was always fun. Being a cadet teacher for a year got me out of the building for half a day too.

I was never really motivated to "overachieve". I was accepted to college in September of my senior year. That allowed me to majorly slack off. I remember my guidance counselor trying to convince me to take another year of math instead of art. She told me it would help me get into college. I told her that I was already accepted, so I took another year of art. While my "art" was never great, I could always BS a story that would impress the teacher into thinking it was great. I even got an award for my artistic prowess.

While I had a great time, it's not something I'd like to do again. Life's good now. I never liked being told what to do.

A lot of my youth was spent seeing what I could get away with. I was never intentionally malicious, it just kept things fun. Man, we didn't have study hall. I guess journalism/newspaper and art were close enough.

I can't believe so many hated High School. I would love to be back there instead of being escorted out every few weeks

No kidding, you can't beat a Friday night football game, victory after-party, and then a little fun with a cheerleader or naive sophmore later that night. :D

+1

High School was an absolute blast !!!!
