First album I ever bought. :D It was a tape. I can still remember the smell. Been a music addict ever since.

:D

I'll admit it, that album is a guilty pleasure.

Edit:

Reminds me of Junior High. Sorry Det.

Who did the song with the chorus "Dream on white boy, dream on black girl" (or maybe it's the other way around)?

INXS, i believe off of "listen like theives".

i think you should add a little howard jones. and pet shop boys. public image, ltd. and maybe a little something edgier, like husker du or sonic youth.

How about some Dead Kennedys?

Rajn, you have good taste - you're the Killing Joke / Sisters of Mercy fan, right?

While we're at it, Killing joke's Psyche and the Sister's Temple Of Love were from right around the time in question. :D

Did anyone mention Humpty Hump or Let's do It? what about beastie boys...Brass Monkey? Was that 80's? :D

Like Cult of Personality, Humpty Hump was a little late in the decade for my needs here. They came out early in college for me. Brass Monkey got plenty of run in this thread.

How about something off of REM's Eponymous such as "It's the End of the World as We Know It (and I Feel Fine)"

:D I just notice that Ilseeya already suggested this (as well as Asia, which I was also thinking about suggesting)
