SheikYerbuti
on a side note- who caught last night's 2007 NL event on ESPN? great final table, where Ciaran O'Leary, a likeable Irishman now living in Seattle spikes a 9 for a set on the turn, when he was down to 2 outs vs. KK, and then makes a great run to take down the title. The deck was hitting him over the head with pocket pair after pocket pair, but he made some nice plays, and it was fun as hell to watch him. The guy was awesome, I love seeing dudes like that win a bracelet. I found his outbursts a little un-sportsmanlike. But, I'm an old schooler. . . Prolly a fine guy away from the table, and it is fun to watch the shortest stack come from way behind to win. That is, unless your name is Alex Jacob. Big Country
Am I drawing dead? With the double points for the event, I think you do fine if Nguyen does well as you have him by far ranked higher than anyone else. And if I had known that Alex Jacob had gone all fro like, I may not have put him on my team

It's awesome!! A little scouting report on the current chip leader, Dario Minieri: He was the first player in Pokerstars history to use his Frequent Player Points to buy a Porsche. I don't remember how many FPP's that takes, but trust me, it's more than the average online player makes in 10 lifetimes. Kid's got a ton of experience in big games. IIRC, he was one of the first, if not the first, to hit their SuperNova status..... takes some insane amount of points to get that high. SOrel Mizzi, who plays under the name Imper1um is/was also doing quite well. Funny story I read was that some player was asking to meet him. The PokerStars online update person who was there took this guy up to Sorel to introduce them. It was Norm McDonald. He said that he had watched Imper1um play a ton online, etc. When Sorel asked him what his screen name was, Norm responded by saying, "Are you kidding, I'm definitely not going to tell you" Okay.. maybe not funny, but hey it's poker, we take what we can get. SOrel Mizzi, who plays under the name Imper1um is/was also doing quite well. I ran a live draft fanasty league for this year's WSOP. My brother-in-law is a Pokerstars supernova (he's currently ranked #6 on the TLB this year). He drafted Sorel Mizzi in the 4th round, the same round I drafted Erik Seidel. He also drafted such poker giants as Justin Bonomo, Ryan Daut and a bunch of other internet geeks. Naturally, he's going to win the league. Never seen someone that far from the table with their tournament lives at stake. Alex Jacob- loved seeing that dude get beat. Solid read by him with his 94 push also- dude thinks he is too smart at times.
Big Country
There is two hard thing sabout the internet players in terms of pickingthem... first, you have to figure out their real names... second, you have to figure out if they will be playing in a lot of, much less any events. I like Alex. He's quiet and isn't into the fist pumping stuff. That's enough to win me over. In fact, when the german dude was all in for the second time, I like how Alex got up and said "I want to get out of the way if he goes off again" or something like that. Love it. Big Country
Table 3, with Lee Watkinson is one tough draw. In addition to Watkinson, you have Jared Hamby and Julian Gardner. Other than that, only about 8-10 names I recognize.
muck
I believe Lee Watkinson is the closest thing to a big name left in the field. Well, except for Scotty Nguyen, that is... :grumble: BTW, anyone know where the blind guy finished? I know he cashed ... but not sure where. Just curious.
